FWIW, one of the biggest reasons I looked into vaping was because I heard about all the flavors. I work from home and have a sweet tooth, so snacking was definitely a problem. I have lost 13 pounds since I started vaping at the beginning of the year and they are still coming off - slowly now compared to at frst, but little by little my weight has been dropping. I just don't snack between meals anymore and I can tell when I'm actually hungry and not just bored.

A friend of mine started vaping to help control her drinking problem; and my local B&M said she has a customer who's an LAPD officer who also started vaping to help with drinking.

Vaping satisfies many things on many levels. It can be a great tool for some people for things other than smoking cessation.

To the OP, I hope it helps your friend too. :)

[...]Since your friend is basically "addicted" to chocolate, a tiny amount of nicotine in his chocolate e-liquid might be good for him, 1) Because it's an appetite suppressant 2) Because it causes the brain to release serotonin, just like chocolate. and 3) Because like you said it's something to keep his sweet tooth busy.

~Again you should always check with a doc to see if it's ok for his condition, but nicotine is one of the best appetite suppresants there is, it may be bad for him if he's skin and bones as it is, but if he's not dangerously skinny then it's certainly better than damaging you stomach, throat, and teeth with bulimia. Look it up and you'll see there's a strong correlation between chocolate and nicotine in how they affect the brain :D, it's all serotonin action.

"Skinny" definitely doesn't describe him :) As I said, he does vomit, but that happens because he eats like 10 bars of chocolates in 10 minutes and that's just physically too much in the stomach I guess. Also, I don't know if he has diabetes, but I can't imagine repeated blood sugar spikes do his body any good. Heck, my own diet is 95% veggies with not much else, and I start sweating and feeling fidgety if I eat 2 pieces of chocolate - 10 entire bars would kill me right there.

As for the nicotine, I don't think it's such a good idea: he has very high blood pressure. Nicotine would make it even worse.

Wow, I can't believe someone is actually marketing vaping hardware as dieting equipment! Well, I guess the old cliche is true: if you can think of something, it's probably already out there on the internet :)

The box mod thingy looks nice enough in its own right, and the clearo looks like a rebranded Vision V.Tox. If the box wasn't stenciled permanently with "Vapor Diet", I might've ordered one, just because it looks so "iPod-y".

Okay I got the bottles of juice in the mail this morning. So I gave my friend a small eGo 650 mAh battery, 2 mini PT2s and the bottles. I mounted 2.5Ω heads in the clearos, to start him out with low-low vapor and not make him cough his lungs out.

It's past noon, we haven't had lunch yet, he's taken 5 very light puffs out of each clearo, and he declares himself "somewhat full", as if he "had just eaten something". So far so good :) We'll see how that goes in the long run. I must say, I'm fascinated by the effect it has on him.

Wow it's great! It's actually a USB battery that doubles as a mod. I can use something like this. Thanks for finding it!
I'm so ordering it...

As for my friend, he vapes like a champ now - that was quick. He says he feels satisfied enough that cravings are "muted", and he's skipped a couple of munching sessions already. I have a feeling his problem has a lot to do with having something in his mouth, and something to occupy his hands.

I just posted this so you can get an idea on marketing and sales. The "Vapor Diet" is overpriced. However, it is marketed towards non vapors to curb "sweet" addictions, wants and so forth.
I personally see nothing wrong in using a product to enhance one's life.

Speaking from experience, it definitely does help with the sweet cravings and the hand-mouth thing. :) Best of luck to your friend!

I'd go with a MVP 2 by Innokin. Same price--much better design and more useful features.

Aah, but you forget the one feature the E-Power has that the MVP doesn't: the USB-out port.

You see, the thing is, when I do bicycle touring in the sticks, I usually carry a very large USB battery (an Energizer XP16000) to power "big" devices like my netbook and charge my cellphone, and a smaller one (can't remember which brand) to power my actioncam-cum-sunglasses all day long on the road. I also charge the smaller one with the larger one at the campsite. If I replace the smaller battery with the E-Power mod, I also get to carry vaping equipment for no extra weight penalty - and weight is important when you tour on a bike.

Also, I've thought of another use. Remember that famous scene from The Lady and the Tramp, in which they eat both eat out of a single spaghetti plate? Well, I envision connecting a USB passthrough to the E-Power's USB-out port, to turn it into the perfect romantic vaping equipment for my s.o. and I. One battery, two clearos. And the USB passthrough I have sports a cable that's much too short, so it'll be a good excuse to get even more romantic, just like in The Lady and the Tramp, if you follow my line of thought :)

But I digress...

Oh yeah? I missed that feature completely! I didn't read the description through on the Innokin website - it just has a terse "Portable power source for electronic products" line at the bottom of the specs, and you can't see the USB port on the photos. And in any case, for some reason, I was thinking about the VTR anyway, which definitely doesn't have a USB port.

Thanks for the info! I'll see if I can change my order on the e-vendor's website. It hasn't been processed yet because it's the week-end.

I agree; nothing wrong with the idea. But I do have a problem with ripping people off, which seems to happening everywhere. Not nice.

Yup. It will even charge your cell phone--unless you happen to have an iPhone 5--then you're out of luck. :)

It'll come back to haunt them, as newbies will buy their first Vapor Diet kit, figure out it's nothing but a low-cost vaping setup that's been rebranded and sold at a premium, get miffed for having been taken for a ride, and find other vendors on the regular vaping marketplace to get resupplies.

In short, Vapor Diet will only make one sale per customer, and that's not a very sustainable business model. Then again, sales of bottled water - which is regular tap water sold at a 1000x markup - don't seem to let up. So who knows, maybe some people don't mind getting ripped off...

I have struggled with my weight since adolescence, bulimia nervosa and anorexic tendencies to food addictions and compulsive overeating. They are all about control/power nit the food as much. There is one thing that I can be 100% in control of and that's what I out in my body, hence the smoking! I have found that since I started vaping I do not have the same stress/emotional reaction which usually results in me smoking or eating! If I feel stressed etc I vape. I will be adding in some 0 Nic juice now as well. In 3 weeks I have gone from smoking 1/2 pack a day to 12 mg juice to 6 mg juice with no issues!
