Vaping at Miami International Airport

I recently visited Miami for a golf round at Doral, and was very pleased to find out that you can vape in the airport with no problem. I approched a Immigration officer and asked him what the policy on vaping was. He replied that Miami International has no policy on vaping, but you do have to run your pv through customs so that they can x ray it. You also must carry less than 5ml of liquid with you because the FAA and airport security standard for liquid is very strict. I vaped everywhere in Miami and there was no problem what so ever. Two thumbs up for Miami!!!!

Cool!

I've traveled a bunch with my Prodigy V3.1. I've been through about a dozen major airports around the world and the only place I've ever had any trouble was going through customs in DC at Dulles. They spotted it in my carry on luggage and pulled me aside, made me demonstrate how it works and then swabbed me down for bomb residue. The whole thing took about three minutes and then they sent me on my way. It's likely that Dulles and the other DC airport authorities are a little more touchy about suspect devices than those at other airports.

Beyond that single incident I've had no problems using my PV at various restaurants and departure lounges.

Oh, I guess I did get approached by security at one point in San Francisco. The guy just came over and said "Is that an electronic cigarette?" I said "Yes" and he said "Thanks. We don't allow 'real' smoking in here." and left.

I used to fly in and out of Dulles a couple of times a year. It's really a nice airport in the Virginia area. I liked it much better than Washington National. The way they had to do noise reduction at National as they took off and landed was ridiculous. You'd take off and flip wing down to turn and avoid the city. Landing was interesting. You came in over the Potomac Bay and it felt like you could reach out and drag your hand in the water.

Back then, I was a smoker. I haven't flown since I started vaping. I've been through Atlanta Airport so much that it's like home. You can't do anywhere from the southeast without going through Atlanta. It's nice when you are familiar with an airport and don't have to walk around wondering where you are going. The most interesting airport was Las Vegas. They had slot machines everywhere.
