Accidentally hold the ecig near the fuel nozzle and have a slight breeze turn your battery on with gas fumes pouring out of the gas tank. See what happens. Why risk that on top of people looking at you like your a complete A hole?

No disrespect, but I would say the chances of that happening is about the same as hitting the lottery. Reminds me of the Mythbusters episode with the gas station cellphone myth on it. MythBusters Episode 2: Cell Phone Destruction, Silicone Breasts, CD-ROM Shattering

I don't vape at the gas station since I just want to hurry up and get my gas so I can go. Don't want to have to deal with any hassle from the attendant.

Really?, did you know electricity can ignite gas fumes? even static electricity from a wool sweater or a cell phone- and the e cig has got to be more powerfull than static electricity.

No.

PEI, the ones who put out the safety statements about static electricity, have said very explicitly that there is no evidence at all that suggests a cell phone can cause a fire at the pump. None.

I even bothered to grab the link for you.

PEI Safety-Stop Static Campaign
Are Cell Phones Responsible?
No. We have not documented a single incident that was caused by a cellular telephone.

Cell phones continue to be cited as causing fires at the pump in e-mails circulating on the Internet. So far, we have been unable to document any incidents that were sparked by a cellular telephone. In fact, many researchers have tried to ignite fuel vapors with a cell phone and failed.

PEI still advises against using any electronic device that might distract the motorist during the refueling process.

PEI- they regulate gas pumps?- gee I bet they don't want a lawsuit

If your a Soldier for Vaping act like one- In public a soldier allways looks and act there best.

I don't care what the laws are stupid kids shouldn't be made to wear bicycle helmets.

I ya'all are so fricking smart- please waist your time explaining to me how the to fires in the video's started.

And FYI- I don't vape where smoking is not allowed unless I can hide it, and try not to bother others.

If anyone else can think of a good way to look like an e-cig smoking ...- post it up so I can degrade you too and possibly change your mind asap.

We got mall e-cig companys bs-ing people, ASH, FDA, the Cancer Society all against us- maybe we should look and act a little more responsibly?

If you decide to not take my advice- please pump you gas where the camera can see you- we all be watching.

Around here the gas station attendants smoke around the gas stations anyway. They don't smoke while pumping, but they do smoke all over the properties.

Yeah, I'm sure that back in the old days people pumping your gas for you smoked at the pumps too. Until everyone got all crazy about safety and things that I have a one in a zillion chance of happening.

Sorry, I started the thing about the cellphone, this thread reminded me of it. Sorry to the people that are getting confused.

But yeah, in my younger days I have smoked at a gas pump, a real analog. I'd say that as long as any device, no matter if it's a cellphone or PV or real analog, isn't actually near the nozzle and it's by your head where it should be- there's a very low chance of anything bad happening.
