My wife and I had a baby yesterday, so I've been at the Hospital a lot over the last two days.

The hospital grounds are covered with "tobacco free environment" signs, no ash cans anywhere at all, etc.

I was standing outside the main entrance about 20-30 feet from the door vaping away on a 1000mah eGo twist with a 3ml Phoenix on it. Two of the Hospital security guards started walking over to me; and I thought to my self "Uh-oh, I should've just hidden in the bathroom". However, they just started chatting with me. Asking if I was a new father (based on the bracelet the gave me), talking about how hot it is (Houston, TX) etc.

During this pleasant exchange one of the security guards noticed two old ladies sneaking off behind their car. He made the comment "I already told those two once..." and his buddy took off after them! They were, of course, smoking in the parking lot and got busted for it, and not for the first time it by the sound of it!

I don't usually let myself feel smug; but this time I indulged :)

My husband was in the hospital for about 3 weeks and I just vaped in his room. Mind you, I was discreet about it, but there were a few times when the nurses came in while I was doing it, and they never said anything about it. I also vaped in a hospital in VA, when I was down there for my Mom's knee surgery, again, no problem.

Congratulations on the new arrival! Since I started taking my SI X2 or one of my ego's out and about, I get far less looks. When I used to take my 808's with orange led's I got odd stares from people. But I have yet to have someone approach me and make a comment or ask a question.

Thank you! It's our 2nd (two girls). I was using the eGo instead of my Volt to make it more obvious that it wasn't a cigarette. Though, I do enjoy the confused looks people give me when my "cigarette" is "burning" green or purple!

I was vaping occasionally in my wife's private restroom; but only when I couldn't leave to go out. My wife has expressed her concern to me about exhaled nicotine, especially since she was pregnant. Once the baby came I quit doing even that and started stepping outside. Hospital's being as large as they are "stepping out" is quite a hike sometimes though.

Kay,

I am with you, I just got out of the hospital after 3 and a half weeks and I vaped in my room non stop.....in fact the ward manager got so tired of seing me go all the way down, which is not easy in an NYC hospital coz you cant get back in after!, that she encouraged me to just smoke in my room.

Ahhh the tide id turning in our favor:)
