"Welcome to the most smoker friendly place in the world."
Some of you may have heard of this place. Most probably haven't. Marlboro owns and operates the Crazy Mountain Ranch near Clyde Park, MT. It's an ~18,000 acre working ranch which Marlboro invites hundreds, maybe thousands, of people to throughout the year for an amazing vacation.
I vaped the entire trip. I stuck to smoking allowed areas at the airports. So outside at PHX, in the smoking rooms in SLC, and out in the OMGWTFCold in Bozeman MT. Essentially the entire ranch is smoke friendly. The only exceptions were in vehicles and in their 'activity barn' (it looked pretty flammable).
I tried to prepare my PV for the 3 days of outdoor activities. I built a nicostick (and a spare in case I broke one). Dripping wasn't going to be an option so I spent several weeks trying out all the cart mods for my 510. I tried to get some cartomizers and an adapter but couldn't get them in time. I finally got some blue foam darts working well. I used 3 darts the entire trip, one for each juice I brought. I got a few little 3ml bottles so I wouldn't have a couple 30ml TastyVapor bottles bouncing around in my pockets.
Refilling the iddy biddy 510 carts really got on my nerves. They always seemed to go empty at the most annoying times. Tho, I suppose any time is annoying. Late on the first night, I'd had enough of that BS and decided to just leave the PV in my room. It wasn't going to cut it for this smokefest. I headed back up to the Saloon and lit an ultra light with a wood match. It'd been over a month since my last cigarette. It might as well have been a rolled up newspaper from the bottom of a birdcage. Took two drags.. WTF'd for a while.. Headed back to my room to fill up some carts.
I had probably about 50 people (out of ~100 guests) ask me what my PV was. I was using the box mod so it didn't really look like any ecig most people might have seen. Most thought it was pretty cool. Some were interested in trying them and asked where to get them. A couple had seen them before. Only one had ever used one before. Nobody asked to try mine and I'm glad for that. I would have felt bad saying no. I intentionally did not bring business cards from the places I've ordered from in the past. I thought it would be bad form to pitch the ecig and advertise for some vendors while on this trip. Only a couple of the staff asked me about it and they thought it was interesting. Nobody made any negative remarks about it. I had been expecting things along the lines of, "What are you doing here if you're not smoking?" but everyone seemed quite supportive of my efforts to quit tobacco.
All in all, it was an amazing trip and I'm really happy that I didn't go right back to smoking. The temptation was certainly there, but the good tasting smoke wasn't and that was enough to keep me away from the sticks.
UD.
PS: I don't know if nic juice will freeze solid, but it'll get too thick to use if you get it cold enough.
