Vaping at the Olympics?

No, it's not an event.. yet.

So, I am going to the Quarter Final Men's hockey game, and I may be having to smoke an analog or 2 because I wonder how the security might treat an e-cig, or for that matter a silver box with lights on it, cartridges and a little vial of liquid. I'm assuming that it's better left at home, or I take my rn4081, which I treat as a back up device anyways. It looks more like a real cig and could be explained easier. Also, being in Vancouver, there's always the possibility that security assumes the device is for something else.

Anyone have any suggestions or had any troubles with their ecig and security? Not necessarily Olympic security, but security in general in Canada? I haven't even taken mine to a bar yet so I have no idea what to expect.

I was vaping away in the crowd when the torch run came by my place. Struck up a conversation with some construction guys about the 510 and gave them a Happy Vaper card. To be honest, I put it away before the full on security showed up. Just didn't want any trouble! I'm chicken

i do not think you would have a problem maybe with some mods.. but a 510 the only weapon it could come close to doing anything would be a pen gun..

just bring a pen with you and if they try to take it.. tell them do you want my pen too.. it has a sharp point so it is twice as dangerous

I wasn't too worried about it being mistaken for a weapon. I just didn't want Johnny Law thinking I was puffing on some "Mary Jane", in front of all the kids

exactly, there's no swimming at the winter Olympics

I think that during the Olympics is just about the only time in Vancouver that you'd get in trouble for smoking out in the open! I see it all the time.

I took my PCC to an event last night, and I didnt really think about it until security asked me to empty my pockets on a table. I took it out and popped it open and threw it down. One of the guys picked it up and sniffed it, then asked me about it. I explained what it was, and they thought it was pretty cool and let me take it in. It had three blue foam filled carts in it too. Maybe it was the big friendly happy vaper logo on the front. I think we are all way too paranoid about these things...

Went to the Neil Young tribute concert last night. Decided I shouldn't vape inside and headed out with the smokers at intermission. Geeze, they make you line up to go outside, and they mark your ticket and your hand with an X. They line you up and brand you now for wanting a smoke. Anyways, felt a bit self conscious with my black M402 and green led, I think I need a white battery with red led for the times I want to blend in. Got a number of curious stares and a few questions. Some dude who looked an awful lot like Timothy Hutton (could have been him, who knows?) looked very intrigued.

I'm a bit of a grouch but I'm finding the big party downtown and the spirit to be pretty fun!

I am so jealous of you people living in Vancouver.

It looks so beautiful and I am an Olympics FREAK. If I could go to an event, any event(except curling), I promise I would give up my PV for the time.

It is a beautiful place up here Barenetted, I feel lucky to live here! I lived in Calgary during the 88 Olympics so this is my second go-round. Last time I saw a few downhill skiing events but I don't have any tickets this time. Doesn't matter, it's still fun. C'mon up and visit sometime! And bring the PV!

Hey! I vaped in Vancouver! And I am from Wisconsin. We spent three days there last summer before leaving on a cruise. Beautiful area! We stayed downtown, I had a couple people try to bum a cig off me, and a light. But no problems, nice people!

I just love the spirit of the Olympics and the heart and determination of each and every Olympian! Not to mention how I love the French language - SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! There are so many wonderful stories and unfortunately one very sad one this time around. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

It has been very strange going downtown and not smelling that aroma. It's the only time ever you'll be in Vancouver and not smell it. lol

I'm gonna take one complete 510 and maybe a cart. If I lose it? So what? I'll be far more pre-occupied cheering on Canada VS Russia!!!!

Update: I smoked a few analog menthols, and could have taken my PV with me as security only cared about weapons. All good though, it was actually nice to have a few analogs, but I was craving my 510 the whole time! It is very nice to know that having some analogs does not make me go back to them, on the contrary in fact, it solidifies my resolve to be away from them.

Congratulations TEAM CANADA on the most GOLD ever and the most amazing Olympics that it could possibly have been. There's a reason we're "on top of the world," both literally and figuratively.
