Vaping at work

I mainly go outside with the other smokers, kind of like doing that anyways, but it is sounding like the building management is about to band smoking on the grounds pretty quick, at least they are sending threatening e-mail about people smoking outside the smoking areas and will ban smoking entirely if smoking areas are not adhered to. I do take a sneak toke at my desk, but have found myself getting more comfortable and just do it without thinking about it. If smoking is banned, then I will push the issue more.

I started out in stealth mode, but when I turned a co-worker onto PV's, he went around showing everyone... lol... No complaints! (I do work at a small engineering firm tho, and most here are pretty open minded - especially about something as geeky as an electronic cigarette). Neither of us have "realistic" models.

One thing I found tho while vaping at my desk I missed my smoke breaks, and I would revert to analogs just to go outside. Now, I'm working on a low-nic through a usb-passthrough at my desk, then a higher nic (and different flavor) on a battery for short trips outside.

I started Smoking analogs when i worked at the Bar. If you did not smoke you got no breaks!! so you smoked. Than i picked it back up after having my kids. same thing if you dont go outside to smoke it is hard to get a break!!!

i work on a Navy base in an office( kinda: i'm an instructor) and at first everyone looked at me like i was disabled. but once i told them, they got a kick out of it.
MY COMMANDING OFFICER IS 100% behind it. he's a fitness buff and loves anything that keeps people healthier and has approved Vaping anywhere in the School House!!

i vape openly at my job, but granted it's a small company and i'm the manager, lol. since i started though, i gave one to one of my coworkers. then he expressed interest in one for his gf. then another coworker looked interested, but seemed a little shy of asking me about it, so i just asked him straight out if he was interested in trying it...so i gave him one as well. thennn another coworker expressed some interest...

all in all i think i've given out a total of 6 kits so far, and spent about $150 on prefilled cartridges for them to have enough on hand to give it an honest go, and another $100 or so on e-juice and blank carts given out but at this point i think i'm going to start charging them for any more kits and supplies. originally, i didn't mind, as i wanted to spread the...health. but now it's getting a little out of hand and nearly nobody's bothering to do their own research even though i keep pointing them here...

I dealt with the same thing, I can tend to be a sucker of a nice guy at times and felt bad when I would be working a really long flight and see the other nic fitting flight attendants while I was in vaping bliss. So I started to carry a bunch of cheap 901's with me to sooth their pain....as well as make my life easier as you have NO idea what its like working with 15 women in a pressurized metal tube for 13 hours with no nocitine around! :-O (Just kidding, no offense ladies)

I printed up cards directing people to ECF and suppliers I use, but to no avail people kept coming to me. Between the financial cost of keeping up batteries and attys, juice and what not, I decided to be a punk and keep some commit lozengers in my bag for them instead! (Maybe I still am a nice guy...lol)

Luckily, I have an office where I can close the door and vape to hearts content I am thinking I might have to drop my levels also since I have a tendency to use my PV as a PP (Personal Pacifier). I still take breaks, but I have found alternates to smoking when I do.

I work in a jail as a correctional officer and I dare not openly vape but I can sit behind my podium/desk and sneak a few if I put my head down like I'm reading and blow it under the desktop. If the inmates saw it they would probably tell a sergeant I was smoking and I don't feel like explaining myself. lol Tonight when they were asleep I was like a vaping fool at my desk with my back to the camera. I don't think they can make out the vapor on camera I hope. I have my own bathroom in the unit that I go into also and I'm sure they've all noticed that I tend to go in there much more often lately -- they don't miss a thing. I smoked for 30 years and its been over a week now that I haven't had a real or "analog" cigarette. Now that I can sit in a pod for 8 hours and vape instead of worrying about somebody relieving me for my one smoke break a night I love my job.

unfortunately i work in a food product manufacturing plant where we have VERY strict GMPs (good manufacturing practices) i have not even introduced upper management to my device in any way as i would rather not have the attention drawn to what i'm doing , so my vaping is limited to outside or sometimes in the bathroom

That's totally understandable and I don't blame you one bit. Anything having to do with consumable food products would be strictly monitored for health reasons. Although, I'm sure you could get by if there was a break or common area of some kind where you're not directly around the products you're working with.

Where I work, it's mostly around rooms full of test equipment and stuff used on aircraft. So, there's a handfull of us (of various ranks) walking around our work areas and in the building who are vaping away. It's caught on quite well and we get asked questions all the time. Many are looking into it as we have, especially those who work in office spaces. As healthy an alternative as it is, I don't see why it would get banned. But, if we eventually get banished to a smoking area, that's fine by me. But, I'm done with analog. I'll just come up with ways of vaping incognito or something. What are they going to do? Punish me for doing something healthy?

I'm really glad to hear that your skipper is onboard with it. Maybe for once, this type of healthy alternative will catch on and get the support that it truly deserves. Those who are looking for such a healthy alternative should not be shunned or restricted with guidelines due to policies that pertain strictly to tobacco. (those who are in the know will understand where I'm going with this) Better control for access to people of the appropriate age? OK. That's understandable. I can deal with that. But, that should be as far as it should go in my opinion. A lifesaving device such as this should not be banned. It's given me a way out of a nasty habit that I've been trying to shake for years. Anybody who wants to ditch that habit should be encouraged to persue options such as this without dealing with red tape.

Now if they'll only do something about the automotive industry cranking out gas hogs non-stop and start making fuel efficient/hybrid cars more available that are reasonably priced - without having to sell out to the government to do it - maybe our country can start pulling out of the rut that we're currently in with our economic sitaution with being so dependant on oil products from countries who clearly have us coming back to them for more and more like crack addicts. I must confess that I may not be a green nut, but I'm on board with anything that gets our country to live by the example that we preach - without making it all about the politics. I think most people have seen enough of that.

Ive been in my office, walking around the building inside vaping and its great. Everybody knows how much I smoked before and now that they see me vaping they cant believe Im not out front anymore with a real cig. The only thing anyone was concerned about was a smoke smell or anything like that, but theres nothing, so no complaints.

So I got my fancy e cig and brought it to work to show "the big boss-man" and ask if it was ok to vape inside, as i'm not breaking the law nor company policy. He was too busy prepaing for our morning meeting, so i didn't get the chance to get his approval before said meeting. Now it's meeting time and i decide, heck now's as good a time as any to debut this marvel of technology, so i begin to vape away...in a room filled with about 35 people. Not long after I began, people began noticing what i was doing, and I quickly found myself having to explain my actions, even going as far as blowing some vapor on a smoke detector. Took about 30 seconds to go from production meeting to e-cig demonstration...long of the short, no harm done, no rules broken! Boss man says vape away!

I work for a small company (about 20-25 in two divisions), and vape in my office all day. I have learned to tweak my flavor preferences for their sake, but no one cares. That leaves only 1 smoker in my division, and everyone comments on the smell when he comes back in. Even me

The other division has 3 smokers, all of whom are either waiting on shipments or money to make an order for their e-cigs.

Take the opportunity to INFORM these people about the product you're using. Use the chance to fight the misinformation - be armed with your own FACTS. But, don't hide it! If they're not comfortable with it inside, then follow the herd; but don't be ashamed of the device that may very well have saved you from a horribly long and painful death from tobacco!

I vape at work.. I work in DC for a Federal agency.. 8 smokers of those 3 of us vape now. I brought in the first one over a month ago, DSE901.. vaped right at my desk. took over an hour for anyone to even notice the smoke. now, theres 3 of us doing it right at our desk.. Mgt is happy that we're not "getting up" as much and we dont mind so much that they are shutting down our smokers lounge. win - win.

I vape at my desk in my "office" all day or night. I am the only smoker that works in the office. They were proud of me for quitting (I did for alittle over a year) and my example helped two others in the plant quit. I only trust a couple people that work here and they are the only ones that know of my starting to smoke again and pv usage. There are a couple of people here in the office that think they are better than everyone else, total anti-smoking jerks that I have to deal with on the day shift and I just love blowing vape at their asses as they leave or walk through my office. There is no way I would get permission to openly vape, so I don't ask I "just do it"!

I vape at my desk all day long through my PT. I converted the guy who sits closest to me to vaping. He and his wife had been spending $400+ a month on analogs, now it's ~$70 or less a month.

We both get asked about it quite a bit, lots of other smokers considering switching.

I vape at my desk, but on the sly... all the guys I work with know what I'm up to, my manager ended up getting one himself but hasn't fell in love with it like I did, he still smokes analogs and the model he got, despite my suggestion, is one of those "same size as a cigarette" models where you have to unscrew a little bottle and drop it into the cart, and it gets all over his hands and is messy and not the best introduction to vaping. He caught me vaping the other day and told me I couldn't do it at work. I was depressed. Later though he said I could but if I got caught then he knew nothing. I agreed and continue to vape. I'm just careful. Even if my model (RN4081) didn't look like a cigarette, the vapor is so realistic I couldn't get away with it even if I had a blue LED or a janty stick like device. I'd love to be really open about it, but for now sneaking around works so I'm not pushing it.

At my desk in my office, I vape pretty regularly, but I just don't feel it's appropriate in a meeting setting or the like. It's distracting surely to others, and, just not appropriate in my eyes. Even in my office I find myself vaping but not like I do in the car, outside, or at home. Still conceal it for some reason.

I vape all day at the office! Most co-workers are non smokers and they don’t mind it at all. My boss (a non-smoker) thinks it the coolest thing ever, every time he walks by he says “take a hit so I can see it” then he walks off saying “that’s so cool, I can’t even smell it”

I work in a call center where there is 0 privacy. I still manage to vape very inconspicuously by keeping a cup of hot tea or coffee at my desk. Each time i take a drag, i reach for my coffee/tea and exhale as i pretend to sip the hot fluid. Now obviously i can't take a big puff as it would look abnormal, but its a novel idea and amusing how no one around me catches on

i work for a large manufacturing electronics company in their IT dept. i was actually turned on to pv's and this site by 3 people here as spikeys video was sent out to a bunch of us. well managers here use them in their offices a guy on my row does it at his desk...i only get asked to let them see the dragon smoke come out by one person. other than that most people know about it are ok with it. i have my 801 on a passthrough and my npro as backup and my extra juice and batteries..first thing i do everyday when i get in is plug in the usb passthrough..lol
