So, I got my first PV today, a 510 clone from Vapor-Pure. I ordered the PCC Kit, one each battery and attie, six carts, and a "B Series" PCC. Plugged in the PCC, Plugged the battery into it. Battery shows green, fully charged. Is this normal? I was under the impression that batteries usually arrived depleted and need to be charged.

And the PCC. Unfortunately, it seems I got a defective one. When I first plugged it in the top light came on Red, as it was supposed to. I came back to check on it a while later and saw that the light was off completely. No Red, No Green. Hmm. I fiddled with it a bit and the red light came back. Ok. Left it awhile, same deal. Light goes off. So I left it plugged in, almost five hours now. No green light.

I contacted Vapor-Pure a few minutes ago and am awaiting their response, but as tomorrow is Xmas eve I don't really expect one. The crappy thing is that I'm leaving on a long trip on Sunday, so I'll have to bring the defective PCC with me and hope it will charge the battery while plugged in.

Ok. So besides that, I'm LOVING vaping. A little weird at first, and it's unfortunate that a new attie gives that burnt acrid taste because I could see that scaring some newbies off. It's gone now, and I'm just getting sweet, sweet apple. Very yummy, not stinky like the cloves I was smoking. My fiance seems to be much less annoyed by it.

Which is a good thing, believe me.

The days of having to charge your batteries before you can use them are gone. Today's lithium batteries are shipped with about a 90% or fully charged. Pretty convenient, eh?

Sorry to hear that your PCC isn't working, but you've contacted the vendor so you're off to a good start. Are you charging it on your computer or on the wall charger? You might want to see if trying another location will work, just for good measure.

The reason you got a nasty burnt taste is because atomizers sometimes ship with a light coat of machine oil to keep them moist. You need to blow this out before you use them.

Congrats on making the switch from analogs! You'll be much happier and healthier now! Enjoy your trip and Happy Holidays!

Tried charging on the computer USB port and using the USB AC adapter for my iPod. No luck... oh, well. Hopefully it'll still charge directly to the battery when plugged in. I'm not an addict, just a social smoker, so if it craps out on me while I'm on the road I won't go running for the nearest gas station to buy a pack of analogs. I'll also be placing a more substantial order when I get home, another battery, some more atties, carts and juice, a wall charger, etc.

Oh my- now I'm scared- I am watching the vapor-pure site for them to get more Rivas available for the sale. My mother said she will buy a couple of kits at that price- 1 for herself to have for when she can finally convince herself to try vaping and one as a late Christmas gift for my sister. I'm saying scared because I'm thinking "oh my- if they don't get a good product right off the bat then it might discourage them totally!" I have found other deals like the LF site- but she doesn't want to spend that much. If it wasn't for the sale at vapor-pure she wouldn't buy any at all! I know they are not that much more $ at LF but since she doesn't work and is living off of widow's pension and such she can't afford to spend a lot.

Well, Demoness, let me assuage you. I heard back from Vapor Pure, about a three hour turn around. They are aware of the issues with the kind of PCC I got, aren't going to restock, gave me a full refund (without asking for a return!), offered me a FREE RIVA KIT (!!!!), and gave me a coupon code for 25% off my next purchase. Amazing customer service.

Hey Lodzin. My PCC turns red when it's charging, but then the lights go out to save battery life. It still charges though. You might want to drain a battery all the way, then try charging it to see if it does. Mine has funky controls too. You have to close the lid, push and hold the button until it turns red, then keep the lid closed while it's charging. I just push the button once in a while until it is no longer red, then it's done charging. Just for another avenue to try anyway.

Sounds like this guy really wants to run a good business. It's good that he took care of you so well and so quickly! When he first posted here, there were a few issues with the site that he got corrected from our comments almost immediately. It's hard to start a new business, and this guy really seems to be trying as hard as he can.

Congrats on getting everything lined out.

quick note to one of your comments about the clove liquid
I just got a order and one of the juices had clove in it.
It is the nastiest taste ever, to me!
I tried sending more juices thru to get rid of it, but that did not work, it was still there!
I had to trash the carto....yuk!

Another thing to check out on your PCC: put the battery in the charging slot and push it down with your finger till the red charging LED light comes on. That's to ensure that it will start charging when the proper contacts are made. Then let it go and close the lid. Did the red LED come back on? If not, your lid might not be pushing your battery down far enough to make the proper contacts. This was the issue with a PCC I inherited. I solved the issue by cutting a couple of strips the length of the inside of the lid of the hinged cover on my PCC from a red MADD rubber "awareness" bracelet. I then super-glued those two strips together and then super-glued them to the inside of the lid. Now, when I close the lid, it pushes the battery down far enough to be charged. I've read on these forums of other users having to do similar modifications for the same reason.

Actually, the light for the battery never comes on red, even when the battery is obviously depleted. When I plug the battery in the light comes on green and stays green. It does charge, though. The one thing I don't know yet is if the PCC itself is charging or letting any power go directly to the battery when the PCC is plugged in. If the battery on the PCC came charged then it's possible that the battery is being charged by the PCC, not the power from the outlet.
