Tried them - not ready for our application in prime time yet due to time to heat & cool.

Running in a dual coil setup, using miniumum cotton, with the cotton only touching the bottom of the back side. Extra Air Holes drilled extra wide. The Heat and Cool is very nice. Instant sizzle. I think that when you try something as different as this the style of wicking has to be adapted. What works with Kanthal coils doesn't apply.

Recently purchased vapin donuts in .75 ohms, The new technology is interesting, however has some flaws. First and foremost, it takes substantially longer to heat the coil. I would estimate around 2 seconds, which doesn't sound like much, but is an eternity when you are used to instant heat from Kanthal. On many devices with a 6 second cutoff, it limits the length of the draw, and you have to repeatedly repress the button to get a long draw. With mechanical mods, its not a problem. The second issue is, once it is hot, it continues to stay hot much longer, and continues to vaporize the juice for a second or so after you have released the button. The third issue is the amount of electricity needed to heat the coil is much greater because of the length of time to bring the ceramic coil up to temp. This means less battery life in comparison to using Kathal.
It does produce vapor well, especially after getting used to its quirks. If you put too much wrap on the donut, the overloads the ability of the coil to vaporize the liquid, and produces very little vapor. It definitely has a learning curve. The upside is the convenience of replacing a coil adding some cotton and presto, you're ready to vape.
