It seems incredibly morbid to me that vaping gear would have to be snuck into prison whilst cigarettes are freely available!

Interestingly in the news today Scottish prisons are giving free vape kits to inmates because smoking is going to be banned in November

Its my medication, every night is horrific and I wake up roughly every 2 hours drenched in sweat because of the dreams. It may have seemed morbid, but that was actually a rather tame dream compared to most nights! 1) I can feel pain in my dreams now 2) Most people say that if you die in a dream you wake up, but that isn't the case for me anymore 3) Many of my dreams involve multiple levels of dreaming where I dream within a dream; die and reload at my last dream-checkpoint or dream about getting blackout drunk and trying to put the pieces back together. Worse still is having a dream about having a psychotic episode followed by dreaming about the depressed aftermath of said psychotic episode.

@jandrew How many Freudian psychoanalysts does it take to screw in your mother? I mean father...no, penis! Lightbulb! How many Freudian psychoanalysts does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

I’m not on any medication, but I have always had vivid nightmares, very few regular dreams. I have occasional sleep paralysis too.

Tuesday night, I dreamed I was in a 70s Chevelle, in a pit, being buried in wet concrete. It was pouring on the hood of the car, splashing up the windshield. The doors would not open and I was starting to panic when, I’m the rear view, I see a man in the back seat, long stringy hair, so skinny he was almost a skeleton. I spun around to see... nobody there.

I write this stuff down. Some of them make great stories. I’ve been chased, stabbed, shot, abducted by aliens, you name it. Even gored by a bull once lol. I never noticed if I was vaping though.

  • In one I was with a lady and someone tried to mug me, but I managed to trick them into taking a mechanical mod rather than my wallet, which I'd quickly turned into a pipe bomb by reversing the magnets and attaching a tank without a hybrid pin. It blew up in their face and the lady was so impressed we had sex next to his charred corpse.

ROFLMAO, that is awesome.

  • The most ridiculous one to date was last night and inspired this thread. Firstly, there was the alice in wonderland thing of changing proportions and colours but, more importantly, my rda's and rda decks grew legs like spiders - some organic, others mechanical - and began fighting each other. Initially it was just slamming into each other, stabbing one another with their legs, then cannibalising each other. The winning rda decks got larger and more powerful, spitting fire out of the air holes, shooting coils out of the post holes to tie up their enemies and zapping each other with lightning bolts. Two of the final rda's panicked when a face-hugger from alien dropped down from my roof, spewing acid upon a large number of rda's all at once and jumped upon each other, morphing into a super rda, that still was no match for the face hugger. The face hugger then jumped onto my face and I could feel my lungs filling up with vapour. Once it detached itself I let out the biggest, most flavourful cloud of vapour ever and finally woke up.

Tell me, did you happen watch Pink Floyd's "The Wall" before bed by chance?
Oh and Aliens is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the whole franchise.

I have never had any vape related dreams (or smoking for that matter), but I am probably unique in that I actually enjoy nightmares. The more strange and scary they are the better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one cruising on the ship of nightly nightmares! :p

Vaping certainly isn't my primary topic of dreams and your mention of aliens tangentially reminds me of a dream I had a while ago, in which scientists were testing a new video-gaming method (I don't even play video games!) that basically involved a "probing" which caused life-like hallucinations of the gameplay footage. Like a step beyond virtual reality, but preceded by rape. I wasn't involved in this dream until they started playing the game in their mind though - I was the training dummy that they tested weapons on whilst getting to grips with how to control the in-game character with their mind (and sphincters, probably).

@ScottP Being used to nightmares I don't mind them too much once I'm awake, but the type of nightmares that still get to me are the ones where I wake up only to find I'm in another nightmare and this keeps going on and on until I really wake up and have no idea if I'm actually back to reality yet.

I have no idea where the aliens came from. The only alien thing I was ever into was X Files, and this dream was long before that was aired.

That was terrifying too, because it was one of those sleep paralysis ones. I was technically awake, I mean you see the actual room you are in, and the nightmare is superimposed over reality. You know you’re awake, and this thing is happening, but you can’t move or even scream

Ugh I had so many nightmares as a kid. Falling (just in general) I always woke up when I "hit" it is a myth that will kill you I guess, or my older brother made it up to scare me, falling in a car off a cliff being pursued by robbers, falling out of a plane, JUMPING off a cliff (I felt curiously compelled this one time) oh I could go on.

My worst one was this really vivid "hearing robbers in the house with bazookas," and it was like neon real, everything was exactly as it should be, and I woke my sis up from the top bunk and we made a plan to exit the house while the robbers... killed everyone else, I guess? Only of course, we got bazookaed and well, I woke up with my heart pounding in my chest, only to hear robbers with bazookas entering the house, after the FOURTH failed plan and "wakeup" I was finally awake but I didn't feel "great and cheerful" about my reality, as it were. I actually wandered over to the park like 5 minutes away (keep in mind I was in Potomac MD at the time there was like ZERO risk doing that) and kind of hung out there for like a half hour. I wanted to be sure I was good and awake. :LOL.

The blood pressure medication I take causes vivid dreams for me. They were very frequent when I first started taking it but have tapered off. None of them involve vaping. They are in vivid color too and I don't really remember them being color before the medication was started.

I've had too many experiences with psychedelics and dissociatives and now when I die in dreams I feel my cells deplete of energy and my muscles turn stiff while all of my normal senses shut down. That dream does sound pretty horrible though, amazing that you remember it after all this time though! (Not saying you're old haha :p )

I remember reading that during the heyday of black and white TV people dreamed in black and white. When colour TV came out children brought up with it would dream in colour, adults switching often slowly shifted to colour but the elderly remained dreaming in black and white.

I remember my dreams that I DO have rather vividly, as they're so few. LOL my most recent involved David Foster Wallace showing up to discuss writing with me and what not in sort of a "author to author" sort of way. (Hahaha, clearly my subconscious and/or David Foster Wallace was just being friendly to the worst student in the class were QUITE wrong.) I let my book sit the requisite number of months and went back to it and mainly my reaction was horror. IDK if I just don't want to deal with it now that it's done, my brother says ALL authors hate their work, but he's said that to me on numerous occasions.

There is also just Sucking. I can't tell 100% but I'm fairly certain that what I read was Just Sucking. I mean, I attempted to read it from the perspective of "someone who hadn't read it) and I was just like, "OMG, I think I'd better hide this or take WAY more writing classes, SOMETHING.

So yeah, maybe DFW needs to come back and tell me I just suck.

I'm prone to vivd dreams and nightmares but I sort of know they're not real and it's like I'm there for the ride. I quite enjoy them, even the morbid and weird ones. I don't remember any with smoking or vaping in, but those things were/are so common in my life they wouldn't be notable details. I read that each dream only lasts a few seconds of 'real' time - each time you flicker your eyes during REM that's meant to be a different dream. Or something similar.

Last night I dreamt I went back in time to the 90s, met Nirvana and was told I had to pick their support act - if I picked well Kurt Cobain wouldn't blow his brains out after all; If I picked badly, well, you know. I picked comedy folk act Flight of the Conchords. Kurt seemed pretty happy but the others stared at me with real hatred ... And then I woke up and it was all a dream, as they say.
