Posted this over on the Volcano forums but I'm interested to see what others may have to say. Does anyone have any driving-while-vaping stories? Have you been pulled over by a police officer who thought it was some else? Have you ever confused the person stopped next to you at a red light? How have the passengers in your car reacted to your e-cig?

Personally, I love to smoke analogs while I’m driving but I’ve always hated the scent that they leave behind. In addition to that, I smoke with my right hand and drive with my right hand so trying not to ash all over the car was always a challenge. Don’t even get me started on making turns while trying not to burn myself.

Quite to the contrary, driving while vaping on my Volcano was an amazing experience. When I wasn’t taking a drag, I could tuck it on my ear like a pencil and have my hands free to concentrate on driving. I wasn’t obligated to sit in the car once I reached my destination until I finished my analog either. When I got home, I just popped my e-cig into its PCC and I was onward!

No gross smell in the car. No burns on the seats. No ashtray to clean up. No ashes on my clothes.

HEAVEN!

I vape with my passthrough in the car (I picked up a 1A car-usb power adapter at the same time). I plug it in, wrap the cord up across my shoulders (behind my collar) and down the other side, as I smoke left handed (how else would you flick the ashes?). Of course, I live in a suburban area that's not prone to wildfires, so...

Now, I basically just hold it the same way, only I occasionally just let it drop, and use the cord to retrieve it when I want to vape again. It's wonderful.

My ashtray was on the center dashboard so smoking on the right made sense at the time. I hope they make a passthrough for the L88b soon. :)

I love to vape in the car! No rolling the windows down, leaves a nice scent behind, it's just all around wonderful. I don't have to worry about my kids smelling the smoke either and that's a huge deal! I vape (and smoked) with both hands, it's just nice that I can take a hit and place it in my lap or next to me or whatever without buring something or anything like that.

I never smoked analogs in my car (I was obsessive about not having my possessions smell like smoke), so being able to vape and drive is a huge plus for me. Anyways, yeah, I got weird looks regularly from other drivers. A few times, I've conducted short pantomimed demonstrations for curious-looking drivers at a red light. :D

I'm also in the habit of driving a non-smoking coworker to his house after work (doesn't own a car). The days I'm not vaping and driving, he usually asks why. I think he likes the smell, which amuses me. :p

Told this before, but here it is again.

Was with a friend in her car and, at a stop light, there was a cop next to us. I took a puff and then grabbed the end of my white battery and put the cart to my forehead---just a way to say hi.
He smiled, turned, and picked something up. To my surprise it was a PV. I couldn’t tell what kind it was but it was analogish looking and he mimicked my hello motion. He is the only other vaporer I’ve run into.

I once got in my car and It smelled like raspberry. I was trying to figure it out, and then I realized I was vaping rassberry (RMV Rassberrry) and that was amazing.

I smoked anywhere I went in my car, and aside from the battery, vaping in the car is great. Stay warm, no ash mess, and I don't need to worry about a ticket from littering. I am afraid, however, that I'm gonna toss my 510 out the window.

How about that drip N drive?

Oh dear. Stick shift, a big chuck, and driving. I'm impressed.

LOL! I just hold it my shifter hand with the cart sticking WAY out to the right. No problems at all ! heheh.. Sometimes I even refill a cartridge, but not in stop n go, only at a more steady speed. LOL Friends dont let friends drip and drive. :D

Good stories! I have one gripe. My 510 is a bit heavy to hold in my lips. my power steering went out last year and I'm too cheap to get it fixed. I therefor require two hands (and teeth) to turn and drive. I hold in left, ash left and throw out the window left. When not doing those it's in my lips or now teeth due to the weight. Still worth the trade off though.

I tell you what's nice is vaping in an ambulance. I live in a rural area of Missouri so we are constantly transfering patients from our hospital to larger hospitals in Kansas City. The drive is about 70 miles or so, so vaping and driving is awesome. My patients can't smell the "vapor", and I can vape away the entire trip. And also for all of those who don't know this, smoking in an ambulance is illegal. Concentrated oxygen and fire doesn't mix too well. :)

LOL:rolleyes: I agree!

I used to struggle with myself about smoking in the car. I drive a Jag with white leather seats and it just seemed like sacriledge to smoke in it but if it was raining, snowing, really cold out, etc. then I just couldn't seem to help myself. So I'd smoke in the car and then hate myself for it. Now I vape and enjoy with absolutely no guilt, no lingering odor, and without that weird film you'd get on the inside of the windshield!!!!:)

That cop PV exchange story is AWESOME! I LOVE stories like that! :) I use Chucks and love to vape n drive, before I couldnt drive 5 miles w out lightin up a cig, driving and smoking were just meant for each other...Now I vape n drive and since I was a chain smoker it is satisfying to know all those cigs I used to smoke are now vaped in the comfort of windows up and no stench!

As for driping and driving, or refilling I should say...i used to just use carts but now use a Super T TTip to drip direct in the tip itself-no pulling off dripping n replacing-works WONDERS. Now, Night driving is different Since Im always on the go for work and drive a company car, I found Cartomizers to be my nest bet for night driving, no aiming and they last the entire drive ususally. I just pop on the adapter and a carto and no more worries about refilling. I still prefer my reg attys during the day tho :)
