I posted a thread about nic level change-ups in my habit not too long ago, and to those who offered help and advice, thank you, again.

So it follows that I wanted to drop to 4mg nic, was reasoned into not dropping so far, decided to go with 8mg, and made it work until a weekend wedding reared it's ugly head... I was smoking the real ones again in a heartbeat, but it was pretty clear why - I was not getting the nicotine my body has decided to depend on. That is probably called a forgone conclusion.

I felt pretty awful about the whole thing until I took note of how much, and when, I was having a real smoke. Only five or so a day, and only under uncommon duress. Not too bad, I figured, and set about my next order with restructuring my whole process from the ground up.

I decided to push the nic to 18, remembering that 18 was great right when I started; did some reading to find a juice that would have more vapor, a stronger flavor, and a harder kick than what I've been using (coffee, mostly, but it seems it just doesn't do the trick as an all day vape for me); ordered Red Cow, 18mg, and waited.

My juice came in the mail and I grabbed a fresh blank. I've never done the spin before to fill a carto, so I figured I ought to. I even prepared another blank carto in my usual way (drip, drip, drip) for comparison.

The result is this - Holy crap, I've been doin' it wrong all along. The carto that I spun (in one of those awesome freebie battery sleeves) out performed the dripped one by a mile and a half. The spin results in better flavor density, better vapor production, and, therefore, better hit. Red Cow is amazing, and I have forgotten that real cigarettes exist, yet again, just like when I started.

I suppose the message in this very long post is this - If it works, don't screw with it; If it doesn't work, fix it; If you can't figure it out, copy someone who has; If you think you are bullet-proof because you haven't smoked in a couple of months, have a bad day without any high strength juice around...

That all being said, I want to give V4L a big, dorky, high-five for being so rad. I've put in 4 or 5 orders, and haven't had any problems. Thank you also for the amazing selection, the million or so options, because it is a hit or miss experience and you fine people make it pretty easy to recover from those occasional misses. Also, my wife and I say thanks for the freebies :) We intend on paying them back by ordering lots more stuff:)

A thoughtful post, Stick. I think you imply something else I've learned: to be patient during the first months. Just quitting cigs is a huge accomplishment, so hanging with 18, 24, or 36mg nic levels is nothing to cry about. Move slowly until the new habits become permanent, knowing that the process takes time. Well, at least that's working for me. Good luck, man.

Glad to hear you've sorted it out! I've been at it for about 6 1/2 months now - I started at 24mg and have worked my way down gradually to 4-8, but I vape a lot more now than I did in the beginning, and use about 3ml of juice per day instead of the 2ml I started with. But I'm at an even keel now, never feeling like I need anything. I still have a stash of 24mg cartos - I have one every now and then, and they knock me on my .... now.
