Re your RN4081 - RN4081 can use atomizer+cartridge OR cartomizers

Prefilled RN4081 cartomizers are available from Njoy (Npro model, or in 7-11's called Njoy2-n-1) or Smokestik (Hendu model)
Blank RN4081 cartomizers and probably atomizers & cartridges - check AZSMokeFree.com and Vaporkings.com

---
Re Ego - can be used the following ways

with Ego-T tank atomizer and tanks
with normal atomizer and cartridges or drip tip
with cartomizers (stuffing type and syringe-filled reservoir type)
with cartomizer tank (big tank containing replaceable CE2 carto guts or an entire pre-slotted steel cartomizer)

Re void - most of us are in a void. There are few decent brick and mortar retailers - mostly just ripoff mall kiosks.

    in a cave, eh?
A big tank containing replaceable CE2 carto guts is called a MAP tank and it works differently than a carto tank (J-Tank, Liquinator, Gummy Tank, etc). FYI, if you ever consider getting a big tank to top off your e-cigarette.

For most of us, the best supplies and prices are found online. And the biggest hurdle is just getting started right with your e-cigarette. But you can get the hang of it really quickly. And there's lots of good information here on the forums if you ask. :)

There is an amazing amount of info here, and great support, too! I cram all the reading I can into my 'free' time; love knowing that this is an ever evolving...phenomena...and that it will stay interesting.

It's a little overwhelming, at first. I'm filiing the technical advice I get about the EgO, for example, because I can't memorize it and then apply it at this point, never having seen an EgO in real life. As I gain experience it will all become clear, I know.

I tried the 'tapping' trick bobsyeruncle recommended today and it worked consistently well. And tonight I plan to play with my spent and leaky cartridges, just to see what I can do.

About that void, it's hard for me to understand. How long has vaping been around, anyway? Is it popular in Europe? One thing that strikes me is that I really loathe the info-mercial sort of sales pitches that some e cig manufacturers seem to use. But I'm so impressed by the product that it seems like it should become mainstream! What gives? Is it the economy?

About 2 hours up the road from me there is rumored to be a mall kiosk; I looked at their website, and they seem to sell just one brand, but I don't want to be unfair to the guy before I even meet him.

ps, specifically I plan to sop up the liquid that is leaking from one cartridge with tea bag paper, as advised, and insert it into a spent cartridge. And stuff like that. Is there always a little plastic cup inside the cartridges? What happens if I remove it or alter it?

I know I will get into making the juice, too. I worked as a Chef for 15 years, can't resist projects like that. There is a post here about someone producing some liquid out of tobacco, out of desperation he said, but I will have to try that, what with this carton of cigs lying around. I wish there was more time in the day...no, my boss would probably take that, too...

E-cigarettes were first marketed in China around 2004. Most of the mass-manufactured e-cigarettes come from various factories in Shenzhen China. As far as I know, most people around the world are still ordering the good stuff from the internet. It hasn't gotten as popular as Chantix or Nicorette products.... or stinkies, unfortunately. It doesn't help that many governments are restricting or outright banning the various vaping products and using FUD to justify their actions.

As long as the cartridge still holds your filler and juice in place, you can do whatever you want with it. :) You can buy nicotine extract in various strengths and mix it with Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine and flavouring to make your e-liquid. There is a forum here to explain how. There are several e-juice calculators available on the web to figure out the proportions. I think the iPhone even has an app.

Ya, I've looked at the juice making threads with envious relish...once I have all the prefab juice and equipment I need to satisfy my habit, I'll order some ingredients. Just out of curiosity, is nicotine available anywhere offline? Nicorette maybe? I read that VG can be bought at Walmart. I like shopping online, but it's nice to not wait, sometimes.

For me, it immediately became important to not smoke any 'analogue' cigs at all, because it's a little personal triumph, so anything I can buy in a pinch is welcome. Glad that Walgreens started selling the disposable Blus that got me started; that's my backup at the moment. Can anything be done with spent Blus? That's a fancy piece of equipment for 8 bucks, suspect they are taking a loss to get people interested. I kinda hate throwing the empty ones away, and the batteries don't die when the juice runs out.

If e cigs have only been around since 2004, it's possible that they will take off once the economy improves. I can't imagine a smoker not being impressed by them.

Well, you can get PG by asking at the pharmacy counter. Tell 'em you're making soap, if they ask. ;) And VG is out on the pharmacy shelves. Flavouring, you can probably find a few good ones to work with in the supermarket or at a bakery. You may need to use more drops than with the stuff you can get online at Perfumer's Apprentice, etc. Nicotine, you'll probably just have to order online.

Blu is comparable to the Joye 510. However, the polarity is reversed and that makes 'em incompatible with Joye 510 batteries. So, I would usually advise people to get rid of 'em or give them to a friend who wants to try e-cigarettes rather than keep 'em around and spend more money on them. Or worse, add Joye batteries to your arsenal and accidentally fry them on the Blu charger.

However, you might be interested in trying an 801 atomizer on your Blu battery. The connections are different, so you'll need to find a 510->801 connection adapter. The adapter's usually around $3. And then you'll need blank 801 cartridges for your 801 atomizer. The 801 atomizer works best at lower voltages, say around 3.2 volts. They really let you enjoy the flavour of your juice. You might also enjoy them on your eGo; they have the same 510 connection. The 801s are longer than your standard atomizer/cartomizer, it's more like you're smoking with a cigarette holder. Classy, eh? ;)

Classy cool, but Walgreens only sells the disposable Blu's, no charger...just a cute, handsomely made waste.
I just found a section (of this forum) with 65 threads about making e juice from tobacco! This site is so vast it's almost painful! There are tips about distilling nicotine from nicorette patches, as well as tobacco, not that I want to leap ahead to specializing in that. I just find it all so interesting! And I could hop over to my local drugstore tonight and start a little experiment, that's great.

I read somewhere (here, somewhere) that one loses the taste for tobacco eventually. Most of the flavors I see listed here are dessert style, but I think incense flavors would be interesting, as it's actually aroma we're 'tasting'...now I'm way ahead of myself, but I swear I will attempt to produce a nag champa juice one day. It's my new goal, now that quitting smoking (analogues) is in the bag.

As far as flavours go, most people quitting want a tobacco flavour just like the stinkies they're giving up. But, there are so many better flavours to try. You definitely want to experiment. :D

You know, you could try whipping up a few zero nic flavours just to try mixing juice. Make small batches of about 1 ml.

That's a good idea; I just bought some vg at my corner Walgreens.
I have two smoking patterns. On breaks from work or other non smoking activities, I go for the nicotine and really hit on a cig or e cig or whatnot. But at night, at home, or driving, I chainsmoke but probably could do with low or no nicotine. I want to play with that.

I think tangerine or orange zest would make a nice, potent natural flavor.
