It's my first post so I'm not sure what to say here. Just figured I should introduce myself and share a bit of how I ended up here.

I've been a smoker for 16 years...more than half my life. Keyword "been". But I'm here now and that's what counts right?

I first tried the Blu(got the little starter pack/kit) around this time last year. That was an epic failure. I don't know if it was the devices fault or my lack of knowledge on the proper way to use the thing, but it just wasn't working out. Burnt the heck out of my throat and still felt like something was lacking even with chain vaping the thing. I ended up going back to cigarettes after a few days and was smoking more than ever.

Recently, a family member introduced me to something better. I was skeptical at first, due to the previous failure, but once I tried it I knew this could be what I needed. Granted, it was just a cheapy CE4 clearomizer from the corner store with an eGo, but it did the trick. And the amazing gummy bear juice didn't hurt either. Om nomm!

Since Christmas Eve morning, I have been 100% smoke free. Maybe I chose the worst possible time to quit...but I haven't tried to kill anyone yet, so this is good. :D If I can make it through the holidays, I can make it anytime....forever! Sorry...I'm just feeling a bit excited about this accomplishment and all the new possibilities gained from it.

I can breath! I don't smell anymore! My toothpaste is actually getting a chance to whiten like it's supposed to! eeeEHEEEheheheee!

And don't get me started on the money saved part. Well......sort of. We'll catch up....eventually. I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about.
It only took us 2 days before we (I say we as in me and hubby...you may know him as Nosedive4130 here)were ordering the eGo twist thingy with the pyrex tanks and stainless steal components. (Sorry for my lack of proper brand names and terms...I'm still learning) I absolutely love those compared to what I had. My excessive use of gummy bear juice killed my pink plastic clearo....but in the pyrex tank it burns so much better and somehow manages to taste even better! I must have more of these glass things!!!

Oh yeah...I noticed that it's kind of precarious trying to set my tube down on a surface....worried about it falling over and crashing to the ground. So I'm making a stand for it out of polymer clay. Sort of futuristic/steampunkish looking with a metal and rivets thing going on. I dunno. We'll see how it turns out. I'll have to post pics when I'm done.

Anywho...I could go on about nothing for a while, but I'll stop now. Just wanted to say hello to you all. I'm sure you will be helping me out with many questions in the future.

Well I do have one question you might be able to help with now...
Is anyone familiar with juice made by P.O.E.T. (sold exclusively, I think, through vaperev.com)???
I'm asking 'cus I know it's not wise to purchase juice that you haven't tasted first...especially if it's expensive. I was wondering if anyone knows of another place to purchase this juice at a cheaper price and/or have you tried any p.o.e.t. juice and what were your thoughts? If I lived in Cali, I'd just go to their shop...but alas, I'm stuck here in TX. :/

you two are awesome… sound like you are finding success with vape gear in steps which is always a good thing.

just keep a positive attitude, ask all the questions you need answers to as this is the place!

as far as juices, ooh … not sure how it is elsewhere but a town/city with lots of vape bars is awesome for sampling. I've done it the hard way from recluseville… a lot of missing the mark and money wasted. Juices have gotten so much better over the last year and there is SO much out there, free samples at a juice bar saves so much time and $.
if you have no juice bar shops near, just look for recommendations here and try small amounts first.

also, if you aim low, you can find some single flavor or simple mix recipes for DIY that are prety darn good and saves a lot of $ >>> in the eliquid and DIY juice sections.

have a good night.

Welcome! I have also noticed my sense of smell and taste have returned! I can relate to the "money saved sort of part", lol. Although I no longer have a pack a day habit (about $6-$7 per pack) I have a new hobby that is getting expensive quick. My GF says "well at least I'm not kissing an ashtray anymore" :)

In any case, congrats on making the switch! :toast:

Happy Vaping!

LOL, that's what I thought , until I got my ... bit by the mods and RBAs bug. Don't get me started about how hard it hard it is to say 'no' when it comes to wanting to buy shiny metal tubes.

Not 100% sure about that, the price of 10 Ml or sample sized bottles isn't all that much (especially when compared against the price of a pack of cigs). I'm slowly working my way through all the flavors that look good to me from a couple e-liquid brands. I find that it's very rare to come across a flavor that I absolutely can't stand. Sometimes, with flavors that I find hard to vape on their own (e.g. Key Lime Pie), I can mix it with a std. tobacco flavor, and end up with something that's not bad.

Welcome to the forum btw. :toast:

I'm the one she has to worry about with getting bit by any bugs... It's ok though. She keeps me inline. That's why I've resorted to research on building my mod. I'm still buying I guess... Just a little slower and less expensive. Kind of... Lol

ACTUALLY......there's really no way to factor in just how much we are saving if we think about our health. Attempting to repair health can be an unending expense. So this is a "hobby" I truly don't mind seeing money go into. Maybe eventually I'll get into the building/rebuilding/customizing too. :)

I don't know why I'm so stuck on trying this poet brand...just am. They sound delish. But it's $12 for 15ml and $20 for 30ml. That's the only sizes they offer. Not sure if that's the standard price range for that amount. But you're right. I guess I could just mix it with something else if it tastes like old wash cloth or something. LOL. Thanks for the info and the welcome.
