I live in Virginia where they have a ban on smoking and when my wife and I go out I usually ask the manager if it is ok to use the e cig. I get mixed responses. Some people that understand are ok and others are a total NO. I respect that. But it I believe it is up to the establishment to decide whether or not to allow the e cig. Most bars I've been to are usually ok with it.
But for some its always easier to get forgiveness than permission.
