We're planning a trip there. Does anybody have any knowledge or experience about vaping there? Been reading some horror stories through Google about people being targeted by corrupt authorities. Some being locked up and even deported. Then again, I spoke to a guy that just came back from there, and he said he saw people vaping outside bars and in public...

I personally would not spend my Tourism Dollars on a country that was Like That about vaping, it rewards them.

Course, I have been (as a kid) and it was pretty cool. IDK how great I'd find sans vape it but it was pretty cool then.

Go and see the royal barges unless you can't anymore

I went last year for 10 days, saw only one dude pull on his vape from under his hoodie. I did not bring any gear whatsoever and gave myself permission to smoke. The government has the lockdown on tobacco production and smokes are cheap. As soon as I got back, I went straight back to vaping.

I understand the government there may be reconsidering their stance here in the near future. Thailand and the people there are beautiful. You will not regret going and I plan on going back.

Just me, I'd spend my travel/vacation dollars to go somewhere that didn't restrict my everyday routines.

I suppose pitching your toilet paper in a basket along with other people would be out of the question ;).

    @Fredman1 what's your itinerary?

Well I got my answer. Spoke to a travel consultant over in Thailand. Seems vaping is absolutely not allowed there....big tobacco must be ruling the roost properly.
I might still go and not vape for 2 weeks...:w00t:
Big tobacco isn’t properly BT in a lot of non western nations. BT proper is Europe, the US, and a couple other countries like Japan. Generally there’s someone with a cigarette monopoly though.

The Tobacco Authority Of Thailand (TOAT) is state owned. Stats claim they own 70% of the tobacco market in Thailand with Philip Morris taking up the majority of the rest. With a 70mil population it is estimated 20% smoke. May not be BT in the same fashion as western worlds, but I’d say that TOAT is Big Tobacco.

Fair. I guess it depends on how you define the term. I continue to be amused that atria changed its name from British Tobacco after it bought out the major remaining US tobacco companies because its initials were then BT so I continue to use it.

BT or BAT (British American Tobacco) which was established almost 100 years ago.

Nah everything concerning Thailand has ground to a halt now. Haven't made any reservations yet. The wife is in limbo. First things first.....i need to decide whether i can/want to go without vaping for two weeks. I know i can, but what i dont know is what (if any) effect it might have on me....maybe nothing..maybe ill fall down in a foam fit because of nicotine detoxing..maybe some grumpiness...hell, i might even be more love-able than i am now....who knows. :p
Yeah we've been to quite a few places and Thailand was always on the bucket list.
Either way its a Bummer :-x

Though, you didn't happen to go with my brother .

OMG. your brother can shoot ping pong balls out of his va jay jay? I don't know if I want to GO anywhere with your brother but I may want to MEET him.

LOL yes, sex trade decreasing. Thank God. When I went to Thailand everyone was SUPER nice. I cannot imagine a population where I would less want to pay an impoverished young teen for sex.

Because VERY super nice. This was when I was like, 7. I have so many memories of that trip including everyone wanting to touch our hair because mine was white blond, and my sibling's was very curly.

Well we're back to going to Thailand. We've done a hell of a lot of thinking, searching the internet and speaking to people seeking suggestions for alternative places.
We want a place where we get bang for the hard earned buck, good food, interesting people and culture. Somewhere where we can have a holiday where we can set our own pace and take in some of nature's beauty. Problem is all the countries that fits that criteria, has a problem with vaping. Needless to say the wife is getting a bit frustrated and I can't blame her (she does not vape).
So far certain places in Thailand is perfect.
We visited Vietnam 2 years ago and had a blast with the locals, their culture/food and traditions.
    So here's the plan...
I've decided to test myself some. We take weekends off as regular we can and go blow some steam by lying low somewhere. I'll just leave my vaping stuff at home and see how I go...see how easy or not, I get "non vape fit"
