As many have said- up the nicotine! 24 mg did it for me with an occassional 36! Now I use 18 mg. Also- I wrote a blog post on what helped me quit E-Cigarette Forum - cmccl - Blogs Stay with it. You can do it and in a few months you'll look back and laugh and how all you did was think about cigarettes when you first made the switch!

another vote to up the Nicotine to 24. I started out on 18 and was a pipe smoker... guess that taught me how to get the nicotine better or something.

Nicotine molecules that are vaped rather than smoked are approximately 10 times larger. This means that your lungs will not absorb as much. Most of the Nicotine will be absorbed through your mouth and nose membranes.

try drawing the vapor into your mouth, then let is slowly out your nose. Sounds strange, and it may make you sneeze. then again, you will probably only have to do that for 2 or 3 vapes before you get the "morning nic rush" feeling.

i think the problem is the juice delivery and not enough vapor/nicotine. try a clearomizer with the lowest resistance coil head (1.5 ohms). you'll feel that throat hit in no time.

is it weird that I dont really like a large throat hit? Some of these 50/50 @ 12mg irritate my throat and get my asthma going

No, there are many of us who don't like a lot of throat hit. I often have problems with juices burning the back of my throat. In my case, it seems to be the flavorings causing the problem, not the pg/vg or nic levels.

It's defiantly absorbed, just not as efficiently as smoke. And not as much as persay the mouth and nose. That being said I inhale to my lungs, my mouth is on the way. When I exhale I do it out both my mouth and nose, there I got all three.

Whatever works for you, I do it because it's a sensation I'm familiar with. I tried mouth to nose in the beginning but didn't like it.

The thing that I had to get past was the time difference of effects felt. It takes minutes ( some say up to 30), before you feel the nicotine. Not like a smoke where it's almost instant.

I may be going against the conventional wisdom here, but if you feel like you need a cigarette now and then (while vaping), you won't be breaking any unspoken law if you do.

Not everyone who vapes quit cold turkey. I allowed myself a few cigarettes a day my first week. I started with 24mg nic, double what you are using. If I felt a craving, I vaped more (harder). If that didn't help, I allowed myself HALF of a cigarette. Saved the second half for next time.

By the end of the week, the cravings got less frequent or not as strong. The cigs started tasting bad and not satisfying. I began to prefer the vape. At the end of the week when my last pack was done, so was I. I never touched another cigarette again. One and half years later I've never had a craving for a cigarette.

We have a saying here on ECF. "It not how many cigarettes you smoked that count, its the ones you didn't."

For the time being, focus on just cutting down on the stinkies until you get the vape thing on with a higher nic juice. When you're really READY to quit, you can...and will.

Ye, this for sure ^ (and if you don't want to try the expensive WTAs). And yes, heartily agree with everybody who said to get that nic up. Just chill, and don't get uptight. Have a smoke. It might take a couple weeks, but you will naturally reaching for your vaporizer more and more than your smokes if you want to quit them. Even now after near six months vaping for myself I think so what if I have a cigarette. I always have my vaping to fall back on. I never have bothered with a smoke though. Just too messy and stinky.

I agree with what baditude said up there. I used pretty much the same method. I didnt completely quit right off the bat. I just smoked less often, smoked halfs and saved other half for later, or let it go stale in the ashtray. Just like he said cravings started to go away or not be as strong and cigs just werent as satisfying or enjoyable as they once were. Got to the point where i reached for the pv and cigs arent even on my mind.

I don't think anything is wrong with a cigarette every now and then... some people just like smoking. There's way too many psychological factors connected to smoking that make vaping not always a true alternative.

My personal way of accepting vaping is that A.) I'm not gonna pressure myself to quit cigarettes, I'll still smoke whenever I truly need one. B.) I enjoy the convenience and lack of smell; I don't wanna stink up my house and I hate always going outside. C.) Vaping is so, so much tastier and smoother, it's enjoyable to me. And D.) I have a horrible cough from smoking, I've been in enough pain that I want to calm it down.

Also, some tips are that the nicotine actually creates a strong buzz when you exhale through the nose, and that this can be a cool hobby depending on the e-cig you choose; forget what people recommend, choose something that you wanna show to your friends. If your a pipe guy, there's so many more models out there, especially custom ones, that are amazing. I ordered a Twist and Protank II because the combo has a hookah/Middle Eastern look that my friends would think is cool. There's big mods for tech savy folks. Make this something you think is neat and that you wanna show off!

I think it's the other junk in the analog. I craved for cigarettes for the first two weeks of vaping (no analogs during vaping). The "smoke" part was psychological, but the other chemical in the analog were very hard to kick.

After two weeks, my body has now only crave the nicotine, as that was the only thing that was constant between analog and vaping.

I finally caved in after two weeks of straight vaping (fruity flavored e-juices this whole time), and lit up an analog (I used to smoke about half a pack of reds a day), it was the grossest thing I've ever tasted (well, it took me back to the memory of my first puff with analog way back when). That analog helped me realize that I'm off of it for good. Could not stand the smell. After two puffs with that last analog, I was done.

I cleaned out my ashtray that I still had setup in my backyard, tossed the rest of the pack of analog in the trash, and the left over cartons of analogs are still just sitting there. I'm just too lazy to toss it out since I don't even notice them anymore.

I have lighters everywhere around my house, a reminder that when I smoked analogs, an available lighter everywhere around the house was a necessity. Nowadays, I may just replace those lighters with batteries and chargers... :)

Anyone that's still smoking analogs and vaping at the same time, just give vaping some time, pick some really good juices (Mt. Baker Vapor), and maybe visit a B&M once in a while to find your all day vape... There's a lot of juices that taste good, but not an all day vape...

Another thing you'll enjoy when you truly kick the analogs out of your life is your sense of smell and taste returns. I've gained quite a few pounds because candies and snacks tastes good! I used to never eat candies and snacks when I smoked analogs (probably because it gave everything an ashtray/burnt taste from the smoke)...

Today is 1 week off cigs. Everyday it gets harder and harder. Only thing that runs through my mind everyday is cigs cigs cigs. I vape 10 times back to back it dont cut the cravings one bit @ 12mg. I think I need to get a pack of cigs. Not to start back, but to ease the cravings a couple times a day till I can order some higher strength juice. What you guys suggest. The cravings are NOT getting better.

Light up if you have to, the day will come when you light up and have to put it out because it tastes gross. Think of the cigarettes you're not smoking because you vape. It's Tobacco Harm Reduction not smoking cessation. Ease your way off of cigarettes and you'll be fine.

I did it that way after more than 40 years smoking more than a PAD. Haven't had a cigarette in one and a half years.

Smoke. Quit when you're ready. When you're ready you won't want to smoke anymore. Took me 20 years to truly want to quit.
