Hi an Welcome!

that is quite a set-up you use :)
I second what @nmackan what @djsvapour said: if you like it, then enjoy it!
and also: take it easy! if you feel the need for a cig then go for it. Most of the vapers I know didn't quit instantly but instead kept on smoking (less and less) until finally the day came when vaping was everything they needed. I guess if you put too much pressure on yourself you might not get the satisfaction from vaping but will alway be thinking about an analog. just my :2c:

good luck on your journey to become smokefree!

My friend. Dont fight with analogs. The important part is how many you did not smoke.
your problem seems you have a strong liquid for lung inhale.
You have to either dilute it less than 6 mg/ml or buy new ones with less than 6 mg/ml
You can use a 1 - 1.5 ohm coils with 18 mg/ml if it is possible.
You said you dont know if you liked them. The trick is, there is a liquid which you should adore out there. This is not medicine we quit analogs because we found the liquids we like best. Go ahead and find your liquid.
If you find a proper liquid believe me you can not smoke after 1 weeks even if you want to.

Thank you @nmackan. I do have 8mg liquid also, but I found myself vaping constantly because of my nicotine anxiety. So I figured if I went stronger, I wouldnt be chain-vaping.

My nephew is using a Joyetech Evic VTC Mini, based upon my recommendations. I had seen several reviews on YouTube for this APV which were good, and Joyetech is a long-time reputable company.

There's a lot to learn when transitioning from smoking to vaping. They are not one and the same, however their similarities offer an excellent opportunity to stop smoking for a safer alternative to smoking. You may find some useful information in the below links and blogs to help with your transition.

As many people on here have said time and time again, have a back up and then a back up for your back up. I carry at all times an extra tank, battery (or 2), and juice. I learned this the hard way when I sat on a tank and broke it early one morning at work. I was able to beat my tank back together but did not have any juice. I did not want to give into an analog craving so I had to find a vape shop close by. Lesson learned and I will not be caught without again.

I am glad it sounds like you are finding your way! Here's to continued success!

As an ex smoker, and switched via ecigs, I will tell you some things to look out for in the future.

I won't talk about hardware.. more of the experiences. The mouth to lung inhale offers two benefits.. 1) usually the taste is more concentrated, so you'll experience more taste for the amount of juice it uses. 2) it more resembles an analog cigarette. that is more important than you think when it comes to quitting smoking.

the direct lung inhales, like the setup you have, usually produces more vapor, and is usually a warm vapor. Some juices taste better in this mode, but you'll notice that the battery life goes down faster, and so will your juice supply. New vapers will usually cough like crazy like you do on the exhale.. that is because they're not used to the denser vapor compared to smoke. You will eventually get used to it, but it will take some time. If you're irritated by the vapor, chances are you might not want to continue going through the coughing in order to quit. You can help curb this by turning down the temperature, and allowing more airflow in both on the atomizer, and at the drip tip... try inhaling only half of the vapor, and the other half through the corner of your mouth. this might help the transition.

And always.. get a backup. When you're charging, or in a hurry, sometimes you may not find your vaporizer. a backup is always a good thing to have.

lastly (at least for this post) things might seem to get worse before they get better. I mention this because my Sister quit ecigs because she sang, and she said she had more phlem when she was on ecigs. It happened to me as well, and I thought ecigs might not be as healthy.. luckily, I ran across this forum, and found out it was only temporary. Your lungs, as they heal, will produce more phlem.. more coughing.. this is your lungs healing.. keep with it. I now don't get any phlem, I smell, taste much more and I feel healthier.

Again, if you have ANY questions.. no matter how simple, feel free to ask. And welcome to the forums.

No news yet? How is it going?

Well, I purchased the UWELL crown tank yesterday and although I do love the flavor of the juices with it and how it burns, can't really explain it, I think I have come to the conclusion that maybe I should lower the Nicotine and just chain-vape. I am puffing less with the higher nicotine, but it is killing me at random. Sometimes I can handle it just fine and other times I look like I am coughing a lung and then the onset of wheezing begins... I am committed though and I feel good about it. I went to smoke an analog last night and although it seemed like a great idea at first, as soon as I went to light it, I felt guilty... so I passed on it. *high five to me*.

Thanks! I will definitely start looking for a backup. Maybe a different setup, well see. I also found another vape store by my house with a nice selection of stuff, Ill have to go check them out again and see what theyre offering. On another note, I have noticed alot of phlem (so ladylike, lol), but if it's because my lungs are cleaning themselves up, bring on the phlem!

Hi @MissGem . Honestly you are doing great. Desire is half the battle and you're on the right path.

One trick I used when I quit was to get a cheap clearomizer/tank and keep a higher nic in it. Then when the "itch" wasn't getting scratched I would hit it once or twice then switch back to the regular vape. It usually took a week or so then the higher nic wasn't needed. I said "usually" because I used this same technique to cut my nicotine level down in steps to the low under 3mg I now normally vape/enjoy.

You'll make it, hang in there!

Thanks! That's actually a good idea... Ahhhh, I see how so many end up with an arsenal of mods and accessories now lol. You know what it is for me, I dont know anyone around me 'vaping'. Everyone I saw was a stranger and I only saw the glamorous side of it persay... not the trying it out, getting used to it, coughing and choking side of it. Thank God for this forum and you guys because I dont know what to expect and you guys have offered ALOT of insight...

I think a lot of people start vape thinking it will be as simple as lighting up a cig. It gets to that point but there is a learning curve. It's not a one size fits all like the stinkys and a lighter. Once you get over the humps of 1. nicotine level, 2. gear, 3. finding a flavor, and 4. the possible withdrawl symptoms (phlegm) you'll find it extremely enjoyable AND easy.

Another trick I used was to find a morning vape flavor (I used blueberry muffin). I would only allow myself to vape this flavor upon getting out of bed. It helped me resist the "morning cig". I would only use this flavor in the mornings then I would put it away. In this manner I was telling myself when I woke that I wanted to vape the flavor I enjoyed instead of the morning cig and my head was looking forward to it. The auto cigs are the ones most people have a difficult time adjusting to. Upon waking, getting in a car, after a meal, etc.

I am positive there are more "tricks" but these are the two I used.

:)

That is good news . Now than you can get an eroll for the high nic purpose. I used it for my flight trips (In case) Also yhey are cig-alike no need for any button. But the tank and battery are very small It can save you many times but not constant vaping device.
No need to feel quilt, because in a very short time you will not be able to smoke.
You can ask your doc a mucolitic to ease the phlem problem (But especially ask your doctor for it because with the asthma the medicine should be taken by doc's advice)
All the problems are the after effects of coffin nails and has nothing to do with e-cigs
You are saved happy vapings :)

Couple things that helped me when I quit cigs was to get rid of cigarette flavors and instead I found flavors I loved. It helped take the association away from the cigarette and I found myself wanting to vape, not smoke, because I could use flavors like hot cinnamon, vanilla, or fruits. You name it, the flavor is probably out there. Another thing was boosting up the nicotine. 8 seems really low if you are still smoking a pack a day. Boost it up to 18 to 24 mg and see if that doesn't help lower the amount you smoke. Whats great is that if you are committed to it, in about 2 months you'll try a cig and be disgusted by the way it tastes.

It actually happened this weekend, was grossed out by it. Even smelling it on someone inside a store grossed me out, and it was awesome! I had not smelled cigarettes on someone in a long time, I forgot how terrible the smell is. The best part is that my son is absolutely stoked by the fact that I have quit smoking... only downfall is that he actually enjoys the smell of the vapor when exhale in close quarters...:nah: but I guess that's not so bad.

Glad you are starting to get settled in on some things. It will take some time for your lungs to heal from smoking, but they will get there and your sense of taste & smell will actually come back which you may not realize you had lost in the first place ;) Hang in there an know you are doing a better thing for yourself and your family.
