Rather than lung inhalation ... I found a much better nicotine hit if I focus the vapor thru nose (nasal cavity). I suspect nicotine in vaping is absorbed thru contact rather than gas exchange in lungs like smoking. Not sure if there is any benefit in inhalation in terms of nicotine hit. Mostly it will just slowly absorb thru tissue.

Though it seems much harder to find a flavor of quite warm vapor that you enjoy, filling your nose with.

I think what he's talking about is exhaling through the nose. At least that's what I THINK he's getting at. Otherwise it could give new meaning to the word "drip tip" :)

The nicotine carrying vapor particles are larger than the burnt stuff in a cigarette and do not get absorbed very well by the lungs. The primary absorption when vaping is through the oral cavities, throat and nasal cavities. This is why you don’t get the immediate intense “hit” when vaping as it is a more gradual process of getting into the blood stream.

Exhaling through the nose increases the surface area in contact with the vapor and gives more bang for the buck.

-- lots of chuckles from that one :) --

French inhale ... had to look it up ... no that's not something I do/did.

What i finding, is I get a better hit of nicotine, if I don't inhale all the way into lungs ... but rather into the mouth and out the nose .. without inhaling into lungs. If I do that slowly, much more vapor goes thru the nose and as a result I get a much better hit of nicotine. Closer to the hit I get from smoking. (I'm using a 280mah cig-look-alike)

Do you mean you are putting the ecig straight up to your nostril? Or are you doing some sort of french inhale? I would think that putting straight to your nostril would be... uncomfortable =P

I agree with everyone else here; I read that for vaping: holding it in mouth/ French inhale/ exhaling through nostrils is the best. The particles in vapor are not as small as particulates in smoke, so there isn't that same absorption. With vaping it's all about the mucus membranes, your mouth and sinuses, that's where the sweet spot is as far as absorption goes.

Happy Vaping. :vapor:
