What's your technique? Do you inhale or not?

So, what's everyone's technique.

I just basically use what was said on the technique article on this site:

"

  • Draw (ie drag or pull) very, very lightly in comparison to a cigarette.
  • Pull the vapor into the mouth, not the lungs.
  • Draw for an extended length of time – for at least 3 seconds. This because for a 1-second draw, the atomizer does not heat up fully, and also because there is not as much nicotine in the vapor as in cigarette smoke.
  • Hold the vapor in the mouth for 2 seconds, then inhale, then exhale very slowly through the nose.
  • If you have trouble doing a long pull with just the mouth, then draw using the mouth only for one pull, using the lungs for the next.
  • Use the ecigarette for twice as long as a tobacco cigarette lasts you."

Here's the whole article if you want to see it: User technique - ECF InfoZone

That's basically my technique. So, what's your technique and your experiences using different techniques?

That's pure BS. Do smokers do that? Ridiculous. Sure, if you were a cigar or pipe smoker. But it's not those people who are quitting and starting vaping. Being a former smoker, I've always had to inhale anything I smoked. That's why cigars and pipes couldn't do it for me. Just vape it like you want to. You don't need some deuche telling you how to vape.

Inhaling into the lungs is probably why vaping worked for me when nothing else did, for 40+ danged years. That and 24mg juice. I pretty much do it like I did with a cigarette except I draw it into my mouth slower, hold a wee bit longer and then don’t inhale as deeply. If you don’t feel the need to inhale then don’t, who know what long term studies will show. Do what works for you to keep off the cigarettes, modify later.

Did get stuck on airplanes for over five hours yesterday and went right back to dragging on it like a cigarette before I calmed down though. :glare:

Har har har!!! Dang that was funny!

They say that there is always a little truth in humor. In this case, I did a "Jimmy Durante" myself a few days ago - sorta by mistake. I was holding the mouthpiece of my Kanger unit very close to my right nostril trying to smell a new juice I had just loaded and vaped. I pressed the button to generate some vapor so, I could smell it a little better, but I guess I was trying too hard and sucked a plume right up my nose. Man oh man that stung! My eyes must have opened to twice normal size. Then I went "Woah!" and started laughing at myself. And yes, it DID clear up my sinuses.

On a more serious note, I find that I can sometimes "taste" certain flavors a little better when either doing a French inhale or exhaling through my nose. I sometimes also do a double hit - fill mouth, quick, short light inhale into lungs, second draw into mouth, complete inhale into lungs, hold a couple of seconds (or not), then exhale through mouth, nose or both.
