Vaping Methods

And what I mean is how long do you vape for at a time? I recently quit smoking and to help with the transition, I tried to vape the same way i smoked, ie, after meals, driving and sometimes I'd even go outside to vape, even though there was no need to. The big thing though, was to time how long I vaped for. It took me about five to six minutes to finish a cigarette so that's how long I'd vape for and then stop until an hour had passed (for the most part I only smoked once per hour).

But now that I'm completely over real cigarettes, I'm not finding these little tricks to be necessary. So, my question is, what's your method of vaping? Do you guys do it the way I do, or just have an e-cig handy and take a puff or two every few minutes throughout the day? Do you switch flavors throughout the day or vape the same one all day (I alternate between 4 or 5 Halo flavors each session, switching to the next one an hour later). I wonder if doing the same one all day really allows you to get the nuance of the flavor and if switching back and forth messes with your palette.

Not it really an urgent topic, I know, but I'm just being nosey and am curious as to your thoughts :)

Yeah those are important to me too. Lately though (which is why this topic came to mind I guess) whenever I'm writing I like to take a puff every few minutes or so. When I was smoking I couldn't do that. It would either go out or I'd have to smoke continuously and lose my train of thought. Vaping while writing works great though.

This is where my evic comes in handy because it actually counts the how many draws you take and how many seconds, but to answer your question i vape almost constantly, i have a lot of different tanks i drop on with different strength mostly i don't vape higher than 4mg and 0mg just because i am getting to much nicotine if vaping higher levels.

Remember that part of the cigarette addiction are the routines and not just the nicotine. Everyone has-had cigarette routines and by keeping them when vaping I felt that following the old routines ( in the morning with coffee, at the computer, after leaving a building that I had been in for more than a half hour, after meals, while watching TV, etc...) made quitting cigarettes much easier.

Well the wife kicks me outside so I basically stick to the same routine as I did when smoking. I will take longer vaping though. I usually take 15 to 20 puffs each sitting. It's nice having a puff counter too. I'll vape once every hour to hour and a half.

Why does she kick you outside?

I vape whenever I feel like a few puffs, don't count puffs, minutes, or ml used. The nicotine we get from our PV's is less than cigarettes by far, unless you are using very high nic levels and puffing continuously for hours.

Here's a link to a scientific study of how much nic we are actually getting over time, and in comparison to smoking cigarettes.

Some key points from the study......

Nicotine levels after smoking a tobacco cigarette in 5 minutes (18.8 ng/ml) are 185% and 286% higher compared to using the first and new-generation electronic cigarette device respectively. Additionally, plasma nicotine levels after smoking one tobacco cigarette are almost equal to the values after using the new-generation device for 35 minutes

New-generation EC devices were more efficient in nicotine delivery, but still delivered nicotine much slower compared to tobacco cigarettes. The use of 18 mg/ml nicotine-concentration liquid probably compromises ECs' effectiveness as smoking substitutes; this study supports the need for higher levels of nicotine-containing liquids (approximately 50 mg/ml) in order to deliver nicotine more effectively and approach the nicotine-delivery profile of tobacco cigarettes.
