Vaping more than I smoked

Do you think upping the nic level would in turn make you crave it less? Is it a feeling that you have to have the nicotine, or is it just because it is there, you feel the need to vape? Or is it the newness of it all? I would really like to know your answer to this. I have not yet recieved my eGo. Hopefully Thursday! Just want to know what I am in for.

Thanks

    Somewhere between here and there
Even though you are getting the nic, your body will go thru a detox period to get rid of the other chemicals you absorbed from smoking. I too struggled with the psychology of " the never ending cigarette". After several months I figured out that it was not only the nic that I needed but also the alkaloids in tobacco so I also use Swedish snus to get those. Many are able to quit with vaping only so give it a good try and don't worry about how much you vape initially unless it makes you feel poorly.

Been analog free for 11months, the most difficult part is the first 45 days or so. Just keep vaping when you have the gravings, and lower the nic level if you have concerns. But just don't pick up that cancer stick.

This is just right vipod - we all are different with how we vape - but any e-cig is better than a analog. It does get eaiser not to pick up the analog and then you can breathe and it is all worth it. 45 days do go fast and you will feel so much better.

Okay, should I order some PG, and try to dilute If I have got it too strong? I do want to quit cigs forever. Can I dilute with just PG?

That is my biggest worry though with going to vaping, upping my average nicotine intake. Last thing I want to do is get more addicted. I am a pack a day smoker right now. eGo comes in 2 days with it's 5 free filled cartridges or cartomizers. Thinking I will need to order some ejuice a few days after getting it? And probably best to go with an 18mg and another lower one so I can play around with how much nic vs vape I do.

Here's what I do....I normally order 24mg of my favorite brand (USA Tobacco, 555) and them add flavors like menthol, vanilla, or caramel at 12mg. By mixing the two at different proportions, I get a nic level that works for me (at around the 18mg nic level). I used to vap straight PG, but have found my sweet spot at 70%pg 30%vg. The VG creates a better vap. You can also purchase pure VG at your local pharmacy or at a place like Micheal's. The brand that I use is Wilton's, just make certain it’s the food grade VG (normally says “food grade” or “USP” on the bottle. Therefore, you can dilute any PG mix with pure VG, and reduce the nic content that way as well.

I just hope that after the initial period of getting the thing for the first time that the cost of e-juice goes down, since i myself am pretty much vaping constantly since i got the thing 2 weeks ago it is costing a lot of money to keep filling the thing up. Though it is still cheaper than i was paying for cigarettes every week.

So because I'm diluting, I will need to boost the flavor just a bit to compensate? And thanks for the hint about the VG. Had no clue you could get it so readily.

I still vape my head off sometimes, especially when I'm at home in front of the computer! It's a good thing I can't just dangle my eGo from my lip or I'd be in real trouble. Ever try to dangle an eGo from your lip while playing Fallout: New Vegas or Forza3? It doesn't work so well. LOL!

I use two different nic levels. 18mg is for use at home when I chain vape. 24mg is for away from home or at work when I can't vape at will. It seems to work well for me and now that I've started DIY, it's cheaper.

Thanks, it's reassuring to hear about it tapering off after a bit. I was getting a little concerned about the nicotine dependence but knowing that I can control the strength of the vap sure helps. I bought some "pure" vg yesterday so I could reduce the strength if I feel the need. I'm also taking your advice and just rejoicing in the freedom!!

Ha, you are so right about the spending but I think that is actually part of the reason it is so easy to quit analogs. It is a lot of fun trying the new gizmos (and I do love gizmos) and flavors. This forum sure has helped too, almost too much information and if i'm not careful I'll spend too much time looking through the posts. Great stuff and helpful people!

There are days where I vape hard, and days where I've only taken about 4 puffs. I usually vape more when I get new flavors, but that's usually because of the excitement of wanting to try something new. But since I quit analogs, I usually vape all day, everyday, and I feel better than I ever have than doing that with cancer sticks. So I say, vape on.
