Been vaping for a week, completely off the cigs from day one. I seem to progressively be vaping more from day to day, more so than I smoked, which seems to be common among noobs. I read about this in the vaping Guide and while I'm sure the reasons therein are legitimate, speaking for myself, I think there are a couple of other things that factor into it:

First, I want this to become as comfortable a habit for me as smoking was. It's an adjustment at first, but after only a week it's becoming more second-nature and I'm becoming less self-conscious about the differences (mainly the way I hold it and the longer draw).

Another thing is just the sheer novelty of the experience of vaping, which I took to almost immediately. It's interesting and fun! Yesterday I got some new flavors and I'm really enjoying them, it adds a whole new dimension to the vaping experience.

And finally, I think at this stage that I'm vaping more than I smoked because, because... JUST BECAUSE I CAN! After enduring the usual anxiety, guilt, fear, aggravation, etc, for my entire life for continuing to engage in a habit that I absolutely enjoyed but which I absolutely knew was horrible for my health, now to be able to enjoy "smoking" - that is, to say, vaping - w/o that pyschological baggage, well, it's just fantastic. Utterly fantastic!

rAmen. I vape constantly too, around 18-20 hours a day. Always have a PV on hand. After the initial "Oh god I'm gonna be sick" and adjusting the only time I don't is when I'm in non-smoking areas (just how I roll). Funny thing is I seem to be going through LESS juice than the first few weeks. I can't figure it out but the numbers don't lie.

I think my biggest reason: Working from home we had a no-smoking rule, so I would have to get on my "public" clothes, shoes, go out, smoke for 5 minutes, come in, put on my comfy clothes. If I got a craving in 15 minutes I would have to do all that again, so I just didn't. Now that I vape I do it inside, at the desk.

TLDR: Convenience and don't feel like crap after.

it all varies but most do vape more then they smoke. some see a drop off after a few weeks, which can be attributed to newbs wasting juice by flooding, not knowing when a carto or tanko is truly empty, excitement over new flavors(its rear that vets get themselves nic sick often, unlike a lot of newb do while figuring it all out). i have actually doubled the amount i vape over the last 2 years, even went up in nic over that time as well. which is exactly what i did during the last two years that i smoked as well.

My consumption has gone up, but mostly because I got some new toys and they absolutely cook my juices. Getting clouds of vapor that blot out the sun. Okay, maybe not, but still, a good setup is going to help you kill 10ml in a day when you used to do 3.

I'm the worst when I have free time. I'm hoping to find a comfortable level, and to cut down to 0mg at some point, but I'm happy where I'm at. I haven't overdone it in a while, and am doing fine with 12mg juices.

Keep at it, the first week or two can be tough, but it does get easier. I used to DREAD the mornings, as that was when I wanted a cigarette the most. I would vape non-stop to kill the cravings. Now I wake up and my cravings are slight, I don't go straight for my pv anymore. It's ... well, like you said, it's utterly fantastic.

When I first began I vaped 40+ ml @ 36 mg per week and didn't feel guilty in the least. Beginning today went from 4 mg X 30 ml to 2 mg X 40 ml per week. The other day I vaped some 36 mg and just about passed out LOL. So, looking back, vaping my heart out at a high mg at the start was the right thing to do. After a few months of vaping I began to have a plan in place without pressuring myself and that was paramount to my success.
Cheers.

Are you still getting a nice TH at the lower nic levels? I'm currently at 12mg nic, 50/50 PG/VG, getting a very nice TH and good vapor with my Rawr e-liquids. I'd like to eventually bring the nic levels down but I do like that TH.

For a little over 27 years I used to smoke about 7 cigarettes per day on average.

The first one, first thing in the morning was an absolute requirement.
Then I would usually have one for a mid-morning break.
Then I would usually have one after lunch.
Then I would usually have one for a mid-afternoon break.
Then I would have one after work.
Then I would maybe have one sometime in the evening and/or before bed, sometimes not.
At times of stress, or when I wanted to think something through, I would have one then as well.

On weekends I might go all day without having one, unless I saw someone smoking, then I wanted one.
And once I wanted one, I HAD to have one.

When I started vaping, I was vaping here and there throughout the day, using about 1ml per day.
But now, after three years, I often don't even start vaping until after work when I have a drink.

I have been using 12mg juice from the start, and have no intention of ever going down in nicotine strength.

NOTE: When I am drinking, all bets are off, and I absolutely MUST vape.
NOTE: If I don't have vape when I'm drinking, then I'll be smoking a cigarette within minutes

When I started vaping, I got the common question from people asking if I was planning to quit. I of course said no, then told them I was actually getting more nicotine by vaping than smoking. I was able to vape a few hits continuously rather than quick smoke a cig 10-15 times a day. I fell in love with the flavor choices and I really enjoyed it. But I have tried 0nic just to see if I would be ok. I feel it is more a hand to mouth habit for me at this point.
