Hello all

I've been vaping for a whopping four days now and loving it! I've managed to only have 1 1/2 cigarettes in that span (on and off [mostly on lol] smoker for about 20 years) and look forward to staying off of them for good. I have a pretty simple setup so far (Joyetech ego-c batter with a Kanger T3S tank) but even after only four days I'm itching to upgrade.

Any advice would be appreciated. After reading around a few sites, I'm pretty sure that I don't want to get involved with rebuilding or mech mods but I definitely want big flavor and I'm afraid that I won't be able to achieve that with clearomizers. I was looking at the iStick or the MVP2 for now with either the Nautilus Mini or a Kanger Aero Mini (I know, I know, the flavor of the month combo but it seems like a good bang for the buck). I'd imagine that would be a pretty big step up from my current setup? The guy at the local B&M shop tried to sell me on the iStick but I was afraid that I wouldn't like vaping and didn't really want to spend that much. I'm kind of glad now seeing as the shop is charging $65.00 for the iStick and the most I've seen it sold for online is $39.99.

I also looked at a lot of the other often mentioned mods like Sigelei 100w, IPV2, IPV3, Hana clones, etc. I was tempted to pull the trigger on one. "Hey, why not go big from the start??" But, considering I don't really want to get involved with rebuilding and all of that, do I need anywhere near that much oomph? I'm getting way ahead of myself I think lol. But that's me. Buy first, think later. I'm trying to change that too.

Anyway, look forward to getting more and more involved in this new hobby and learning as much from you all as I can.

Well hello!!! lol, okay so just a piece of advice from me and this is just IMO...I wish someone would have got me into rebuildables from the start, they are NOT as complicated as you think and after a short learning curve they become second nature...I wasted HUNDREDS of dollars on cheaper setups (Kanger, E-go, etc.) and was never "satisfied" until I started working at a vape shop and got into rebuildables...Now that I can literally blow clouds a cig is not even satisfying (can't blow clouds on them lol) and my nic is only at 3mg (it's alot more intense in a dripper) I mean you gotta stay where you feel comfortable but if you are already wanting more after a few days, slow progression may just be a waste of time and money for you and youtube has an AMAZING amount of info to offer along with this forum for anyone starting out. That being said always do it safe and research whatever you get yourself into before losing your face...just saying lol. I love the Sigelei 100w and the IPV3 if you are looking for a SOLID upgrade but remember all of this stuff is subjective and this is just IMO, happy vaping:vapor:

Hi, JH, and welcome to ECF :)

The other toppers you mention are also clearos, btw. Maybe have a look at the nautilus, lots of folk really like their performance, although I've not used them.

The T3S is no slouch, a fine topper, although some find it's air flow a bit low for their tastes. I find the mini's of the PT2 ilk to be a bit prone to burning - again an air flow issue, and there are air flow control bases you can get for them that help a lot. The full size ones give me generally better performance. Or you may prefer the versions with dual coils, although I wouldn't recommend putting those on your current battery, as the battery may not like the extra power requirement. (But should be fine on say the IStick or MVP2 - but MVP3 is coming "real soon now" :laugh: )

I'd suggest NOT going with the high power mods at this time. Many have a low limit that may not be low enough for your tastes at this time. But a decent 18650 tube mod - Vamo, Tesla VV/VW or similar - and at least two good batteries and charger might make sense for you. You'd get longer run time, more control over the vape quality, and greater flexibility on what you put on top. (Although toppers like the PT2, etc, look fine on the ego size batteries if you add a flared cone.)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

I highly recommend the iStick and Nautilus or mini Nautilus with the BVC's (bottom vertical coils). The MVP with either a Mini Nautilus, Nautilus or Aerotank works good too.

But here is what I really love about the iStick and Nautilus (lots of flavor and vapor). This is Matt (from Suck My Mod) vaping a mini Nautilus on an rDNA (a 30 watt devise). However he is only vaping at 18 watts (the iStick goes up to 20 watts). Any higher, you get dry hits/burnt taste.

Thanks for the welcome. I went to another B&M shop today and picked up a Nautilus Mini with a new flavor of juice (mango raspberry with some mint, might sound strange butvits very tasty). Not sure if my previous juices or the TS3 was the "problem" but the vaping seems more satisfying. It could also be all in my head lol.

The owner let me try out a vaporshark dna30 and that was pretty awesome so now I'm leaning toward that. Unless somebody wants to talk me down off of that $200 ledge lol

Well

1: If you're considering the high powered mods, I'd say hold off on that- next year the field will look alot different anyway and instead:
2: get the aerotank mini and the nautilus ; (the aeromini uses eGo threads just as your mt3 does; less problems for new vapers)
3: I'd get the istick and keep an eye out for the mvp3 which is supposed to be out soon OR
You could get something like the e-lvt2 which uses standard size replaceable battery

Come down off that ledge;

pay attention to the replaceable battery mod versus the fixed battery box.
If you're going to spend $200 make sure it's the replaceable battery type, but for that kind of $dollar$ you'd also want to be looking at the provari3; the sigelei 100watt is listed on fasttech for $88 and that takes 2 batts.

Ebates - my immune system is very susceptible to Shinyitis. ;) That's a lot of my problem, I want to go too fast too soon and it often leads to buyer's remorse.

edyle - the woman at the shop I went to earlier showed me the e-lvt2 but she kind of dismissed it. It seemed like a very solidly built piece of hardware. She was suggesting the MVP2 but the price was a lot higher than I wanted to pay for it. I'm pretty sure she had a Sigelei 100w in the case but she never mentioned it. I saw a Cloupor T5 and T8 as well but no DNA 30. I'm trying to make a decision right now because I want to place an order tonight. So far I'm thinking of getting an iStick AND a DNA 30 with a couple more Nautilus Minis but I'm trying to research and figure out which batteries and charger to get for the DNA 30. I think the iStick could be my portable along with the eGo-C. I almost snagged a Vision Spinner II at the shop and now I'm kicking myself. Yeah, it's nothing fancy but I think I would've gotten a good bit more life out of it as opposed to the eGo-C.

Again, thanks for the advice and comments so far. This hobby is a lot to take in but it's enjoyable.

The salespeople are going to be inclined to sell fixed battery boxes which are going to keep needing to be replaced;
the sig100 and the e-lvt use standard replaceable batteries which you can get anywhere instead of getting from a vapeshop.

the cloupor t8 uses replaceable batteries
and the t5

can't say for the dna-30 because the earlier ones were fixed battery but some of the later ones are replaceable battery

the mvp2 and the istick are both fixed battery boxes; they are good for new vapers so they can get started with less fuss about batteries and charging and so be able to focus more attention to the business end of vape gear.

Didn't think about the battery thing while in the shop but you make a good point.

I took the plunge and ordered an iStick and a Cloupor DNA30 along with two more Nautilus minis. The DNA30 I ordered allows for the battery to be replaced so I also ordered four Samsung 25R batteries along with a Nitecore i4 intellicharger. I almost went with a Sigelei 100w but figured it was too much for the time being. Now I just have to patient while I wait for everything to come in.

That's good;
Now you can focus more attention to the topper, and what goes in it.
