Vaping newbie with Roughstack v2 question

Hi all!

I smoked for 14 years. My front tooth, on the side where I drag cigs, got a stain. That was it for me. Done. Not to mention the cost, the health effects, and so forth

A gentleman turned me on to vaping. Gosh there's a lot to learn.

I just got my first unit, the Roughstack v2, which uses I guess a 5V and a 510 atty.

I'm learning that I can't keep the unit assembled with juice in the cart, because it will drown my atty (I thought it was broken, before blowing the excess juice out onto a tissue).

I'm getting some varied results.

1) Sometimes, the vapor is thin, and hot enough to burn my throat a little. typically w/ fresh battery
2) Also: how many drags should I get with 3 drops in the cart?

as for your #1 thats fairly normal.....you can try adding a drop or two directly on the atty to help this out for the first lil while.
for your #2 id say about 5 drags YMMV but thats a decent number!-) good luck on your new jouney theres a ton of info on this forum and so many people to answer the questions!-) have a great day

My RS loves dual coil carto.
1 fill lasts over an hour.
I'm using 3.7 volt batt.
Is 5 volt an option w/ RS?

I think 5v can only be achieved using that 5v (technically 4.8) NiMh batt that madvapes and rtd sell.

I believe your options are 3.7, 6 (with 2 RCR123A 3.0V batts), and 7.4 (2 16340 3.7V batts). And now 5 (with the mentioned batt).

3.7v w/18650
6.0 with rcr123 (like tenergy 900mah lifepo4)
6.4 with other rcr123s (like tenergy 750 mah lifepo4)
7.4 with ICR123a

I'm not aware of a 5V battery for the roughstack
like posted above the nimh is not really 5V

Thanks for the hints! Won't the drops directly on the atty drown it?

It will only drown it if you drip too much on it. As mentioned, just a couple of drops before you start. Then when the vapor starts to thin out or the flavor starts to go, drip some more (or stop if you're treating it like a cig).

I only use atty for testing flavors. Takes some practice to avoid flooding. like 3 drops 10 puffs repeat.

I don't loose a drop w/ dual coil cartos; they only cost a couple bucks.

Also , good thing to know . Don't try vaping like you smoked . On your roughstack , take long easy draws , not quick strong hits , like on a cigarette . If you want more of a throat hit . Try drawing in a lot of vapor , into your mouth and then inhale , you will find that you get a lot more hit , and vapor .

Another Roughstack problem for you guys

I was vaping away this afternoon, and just put 2 drops of juice to top-off the cartridge , and two onto the atty, and....

nothing? did I get juice into the switch? I tried a dry atty and new battery...
your help is much appreciated!

It was the switch. Luckily, this kind is apparently easy to get into and clean (thank you http://www.y o u t u b e.com/watch?v=Iqfgp45itwE)

For anyone else that's new to this... it doesn't take long to figure out the parameters.

Might I suggest you go with carto's? It's just easier to use than carts. Perhaps it's just my dislike of carts. But hey, if it's workin' for ya, good on ya.

My RS was getting poor connection between spring and atty connector center pin.
I replaced spring w/ wire.

My RS was leaking.
I sealed atty connector center pin and switch hole w/ RTV.

My RS has been solid as a rock w/ no leaks since.
