Vaping on a plane?

Against the rules for ALL airlines...not recommended!!
And even the restroom smoke sensors may pick up vapor, I've heard.
Some folks say they've gotten away with a "stealth vape"...holding in the vapor...

pack away the provari, if you want to vape on the plane just bring a disposable and stealth it or bring another form of nicotine. if its a short flight just wait it out.
I called a local vape shop in town, and the guy I talked to said he vapes all the time on flights. I wondered if he's one of the "I got away with it" types. So not worth the risk! I could buy a teensy unit and stealth, but sure wouldn't want to get kicked off the plane if I got busted!
As far as I know all Airlines prohibit any and all tobacco use (yes even dip) it's my general opinion to follow social norms with smoking so if the real thing is not allowed I typically won't vape.
However, I will do it in the airport of there is a long enough wait. Unfortunately each airport is different. Charlotte it is OK, Philly it's not. Laguardia is OK in the delta terminal, but the terminals operated by port authority it is not OK. If there is a smoking lounge like Atlanta I will go to the lounge and vape.

Can you vape? Yes (in the strict sense of "can")
May you vape? No. It is prohibited.
Should you vape?
Personal decision IMHO.
I have stealth-vaped in the cabin (before I knew it was prohibited). The passenger next to me asked how I liked e-cigarettes and was interested. I would NOT do this these days in any event and am not recommending it at all!!!!!
Nowadays I would only vape in the lav. If you're not blowing huge clouds of vapor upwards, the smoke detector should be fine.
I wouldn't vape my provari (and not just because I don't own one). Get a cheap ego clone. However, them taking away your equipment would not be my primary concern. If you're found to be violating regs, the issue could be arrest, not seizure. There are better alternatives:
1. Bring along Nic Gum or Snus.
2. Take a drop of e-juice and either rub it on your tongue or cheek, or on your wrist/arm when you're struggling.
3. Become very chatty with everyone around you, explain how badly you're struggling not being able to vape, and how vaping is not at all like smoking, and how you managed to quit smoking through vaping, and how misguided the FDA and FAA are on their rulings, and how unfair it is that you aren't allowed to vape and yet people are allowed to use the patch, or asthma inhalers, and how the pilots are allowed to control the cabin oxygen to below OSHA-allowed levels just to save a few bucks on fuel, which is a bigger danger, comment exhaustively about the fact that planes flying at commercial altitudes expose the passengers to significant levels of radiation and how radiation causes cancer like how about those people in Nagasaki and Hiroshima and Chernobyl and those reactors in Japan that have been spilling radiation into the air and ocean since the tsunami a year and a half ago, and how come there's never any coverage of that in the news even though everyone knows how dangerous that is etc. until eventually the flight attendant and everyone else around you says "Vape the damned thing and ....!".

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. These days, when looking cross-eyed at a flight attendant can mean some intimate, one-on-one time with an angry dude with a rubber glove, I wouldn't risk it.

If you are in business class on an international flight you could lay down and cover up with a blanket and no one would even know. Coach? I don't think so. Really there are a lot of completely legal things people can do that I would prefer them not in a confined situation. Like.. talk on your cell phone, change your kids diaper (yes someone did that next to me on a plane). i really see no need to vape on a plane. Just bring nic pills and get drunk. That's what I did at 2 packs a day on 18 hour fights. Never bothered me.

I had to do it without smoking a few years ago flying overseas .... I got off the plane and did a bee-line to the 'very' first available outdoor exit to smoke ... and woe be the person that got in my way (my poor mom, I still tell her sorry every so often)
I just got back from a trip and I was stealth vaping the whole time. 2 inhales and exhale down towards my shirt
I will say though during take off expect leaking like crazy. On the flight home I stuck to only my kayfun because dealing with a few tanks was too much to manage. On the kayfun I kept vaping so it wouldn't leak everywhere. Landing was OK though. Be warned

they can and WILL kick you off the plane,,,,,,,,,,,,and you will get stuck where ever they put you down,,,,,,and have to buy another last minute (RE:EXPENSIVE) ticket to get home or where you are going.
