It would be potentially damaging to our desire for acceptance by flaunting the law. We do not want this. This is the same principle as ECF rules barring certain conversations. The vaping community is best served by demonstrating our respect for established rule and using rational protest and discussion to gain acceptance.

IMO vaping in the seats is asking for trouble on commercial airlines. The restroom on the other hand is probably safe.

I would advise to avoid vaping on a commercial flight period.

What if the alarm goes off in the restroom? Yes they can go off from vapor. No there are not leprechauns behind the mirror either.

I vaped in the bathroom on our flight back from Puerto Vallarta yesterday, no problem. The bathroom smelled so bad that I figured I was doing people a favor by leaving a little strawberries and cream scent! It is definitely true that too much water vapor can set off a smoke detector (they sense particulate matter in the air, not just smoke), but if you double inhale and then exhale through your shirt or something, there will not be anywhere near enough vapor in the air to set one off. I wouldn't exhale directly at the smoke detector, though!
