Was that with a glass tank at the pool?
Glass is forbidden at pools.

with that said I never smoked in areas it was forbidden or seemed out of place. Crowded areas, etc. I follow the same rules with vaping.

does this mean I cant wear my glasses at the pool??? ;)

I am curious on what people's opinions are on this one, and how idiotic the statement made to me or order should I say seemed . I took my kids to the pool, and a life guard came up to me and said you are not allowed to smoke here. I said I am not smoking, this is a vapor it is not smoke. She said regardless you can't smoke here. WOW REALLY? People are so ignorant. I am not only outside, but again I am so irritated at this comment because people are trying to ban smokING electronic cigarettes outside? There is no 2nd hand smoke it is a vapor
A park is a public accomdation that belongs to the government. They have the same discretion as a private owner of any other public accomodation and they need to have that. If they make too many restrictions and drive too many people away may be support declines and it's harder to get funding for the park. I'm learning that stealth vaping is possible just about anywhere.

It is indeed, and can be every bit as satisfying in terms of nicotine intake. And unless someone is staring at you intently, what they don't see will not upset them ...

My feeling is this. If a person finds something about my behavior truly objectionable, and has the good sense to approach me calmly and discuss the issue with me privately, then I will certainly listen to their concerns, and will most likely comply with their preference, or distance myself from them when possible ...

Not just vaping, but any behavior ...

But if that person instantly raises an alarm, tries to stir up a mob reaction, or immediately brings an authority figure into the dispute, then all bets are off, and I am under no obligation to confirm their suspicions ...

Usually the accuser will claim that they "saw smoking". Since there is no ash, no burning tobacco, and no lingering odor, its easy to deflect this assault, defuse the alarm, and restore peace ...

No butts about it ... :D

Lifeguards are, by nature, officious, and do not ordinarily read toxicology reports on the constituents of e-cig vapor. "Looks like smoke; don't do it" is about the extent of the "analysis" you're likely to get.

I find it amazing where you can get away with this. Airports, malls, almost everywhere, IF, you are truly stealthy. If it weren't for the exhale of vapor, there would be no deeming and no one caring at all what you do.

It's so true, if it looks like smoke, you must be a smoker.

Big tobacco, Big pharm, Big gov would still be losing money so even if there was no vapor we would still be in the same predicament we are in. JMHO

Without public backing, which was easy to get due to the vapor and misinformation, I believe we would not be in this situation.

You could very well be correct. I wonder though, did the FDA contact the public for backing. Did they even consider the general public's opinion before posting the deeming regs. BTW: Just rhetorical questions. I don't think so. They only paid attention to the ones that fund them and money is ALL that matters to them. again JMHO

Oh, they knew they wouldn't even have to ask for public opinion, they just had to tell the sheep that us rams were actually still smoking and we were going to poison them with our vapor just as much as we were going to kill them with second hand smoke. Why do you think people still make that little fake cough when they get around vapor. They have been led to believe that it is bad. Heck, even some vapors are buying into it. Look at some of the posts lately here that state "is X chemical safe". I don't mind people wanting to be informed, but sometimes it just comes off like there is a witch hunt going on. Hey, could be ANTZ plants for all I know.

The FDA didn't have to ask or prove anything. All they had to do was play the trump card, which they did.
