Hi , So I have a provari and a mvp 2,
I use an aspire Nautlius 1.8 coil and I am using Legend fro HHV 24mg 70 pg 30 vg and Halo Tribecca 24mg also Bobas Bounty 24 mg I am running the provari at 3.3 volts which comes out as a little over 6 watts and the mvp at 6 watts whenever I try to bump up the power even just to like 7 watts I start getting some tightness in my chest if I contine it becomes almost painful
I am fine at 6 watts but don't feel as I get enough throat hit at 6 watts or enough vapor any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Erm, PG is what gives the throat hit not VG afaik :)

But yeah it's prolly too much nic or too much PG.

The OP didn't say anything about too much throat hit. He's experiencing tightness in his/her chest that starts off as tightness and becomes painful with continued use.

Some folks me included find that VG gives a heavy chest feeling, for me high VG starts off as a tightness in the chest then with continued use morphs into elephant standing on my chest hard to breathe.

Should I drop the nic to 18 or 12 I vape all day

How much do you vape per day?

I am guessing you vape more than 5ml per day.

at 24mg that sounds like a lot.

Perhaps you're burning juice and not tasting the burn because it's masked by the nicotine.

And how long do you use a coil before changing it?

I too have a sensitivity to large amounts of VG. First thing I would try is only vaping the higher PG juice for a few days, and see if that helps any.

Yes the heavy chest sound like too much vg; lay off the boba's bounty.

Tribeca E-liquid is a new ultra-smooth tobacco e-liquid with fantastic flavor all its own. Tribeca E-liquid has definitive tobacco undertones with a semi-sweet top note that is reminiscent of RY4 e-liquid and other treasured tobacco e-liquid blends with slight hints of vanilla and caramel. Tribeca E-liquid delivers a solid throat hit and excellent vapor production.

As for the Tribeca:
- smooth
- sweet
- vapor production

all sound to me like that's another high VG liquid.

Man thats crazy!!! I get the same feeling from to much PG.. Actually started using non-PG juice and the issue went away for me. Good to know VG can cause this as well.

It all depends on the juice you are using. I think your Nicotine level is to high. You should try reducing it to 12mg.

For me my sweet spot is right around 8.25+/- watts with most any device, Kayfun, Nautilus or any of the other tank devices I use.
I can vape at higher voltages/wattages for a few draws but always drop the voltage back down to around 3.4 volts. That is on a Provari or the Vamo's or the eGo style VV devices I have. This is with coils in the 1.4 to 1.8 ohm range.

I personally can't understand how some people vape at 12, 15, 20, 30 watts. That would tear my lungs out. I saw a post the other day where someone said they like vaping a 1.8 ohm coil at 24 watts. That's 6.57 volts. I could never do that.

If you want more vapor try upping the VG content to something like 50% or more.

Shootist... I think you might have some misconceptions about what people are doing with higher watt set ups. For example, take your sweet spot of 8.35 watts.... now just add an additional coil exactly the same... of course, you'd add additional airflow for that coil accordingly ... you'd now be vaping at 16+watts... and it would not be any harsher than your sweet 8watt vape... just more of it. Extending that thought.. create a quad coil... now you're at 32+watts. Its not all about just adding power... there are quite a bit of variables... just in terms of Ω alone.. there's more than one way to get to a particular Ω. Its not quite as simple as volts, ohms, and watts...

No misconception. I know how to do the math.

What gets me is people saying they are vaping 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 ohm coils at 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 30+ watts.

Sure if you are running a .3, .5 ohm coil you can get to that wattage with 3.4 to 3.8 volts.

Since the OP's problem occurs at such a low power level, I doubt it has anything to do with V's / W's / ohms and more to do with some reaction to pg/vg ratio, nic mg or flavoring(s).

But, if someone is experiencing a symptoms of a medical problem,,,
hey doc - it hurts when I do this,,, doc - then don't do that until we figure out why and treat it.
