Getting my first rba and mech mod this week. Just a few questions to ask.

Let's say i want to make a 1Ω coil and run it on a mech mod with a freshly charged AW IMR 18650, it will produce a 17.64 watts based on 1Ω and 4.2V.

According to some vaping charts, the 17.64 watts produced is way beyond the safe level. Is this safe to vape because it's on a mech mod or is there something else to it?

Thank you.

The safe-vaping charts don't apply to mechmods because they have no wiring, no electrical switch, and a high-discharge battery is always used. Some people like the monster power, others don't.

Make sure you do have a mechmod, not a basic electrical device with a wired switch. Test your coil with a multimeter before use and after a few draws. Like TMC says above, stuff gets burnt easy this way, so each part of the chain needs to be right for 20 watts, and that is not easy to get right sometimes. The liquid, wick, coil, and actuator (the 'switch' if you like) all take a beating. Oh and your lungs as well.
