Rattlesnake is the way the coil sizzles.

Originally, way back when, the 'rattlesnake effect' was a term coined for the constant 'up and down' voltage application of inefficient and poorly designed boards that couldn't hold a sustained voltage.
Meaning the board, when the the fire button was pressed continuously, applied an irregular amount of voltage in an up and down fashion to the atomizer which made it crackle and pop up and down as voltage was applied like a 'rattlesnake'.

Did that make sense?

Hi guys,
So 2 weeks ago I bought the Vape Nugget X kit and it was totally fine.
However I charged it overnight with a brand new USB cable I have never used before and was using it fine for the day. However half way through the day whenever it was on there was a quite buzzing noise coming from the USB port. The sound isn’t there when it’s turned off or when im vaping. Hope someone can help me as I am very conscious right now and I’m scared it’s going to blow up which prob isn’t.

That's an odd one. The only thing that comes to mind is that it's from the power converter. It's basically a switching power supply. In a mod it takes the battery voltage and varies it up and down to supply power to the atomizer. Usually they operate above audible frequencies, but if for some reason it dips down into the audible range it would be perceived as a hiss. It doesn't sound normal to me; especially if you're not firing it.
