Hello ecf, i recently bought a sigelei 150w and an atlantis v2 subtank (amazing btw). I was outside vaping and a very kind gentlemen came up to me and asked me some questions about vaping. He told me he wants to quit cigs. We were both waiting for the bus so i thought yeah i dont mind. He starts asking me pretty common questions; is vaping safe, do i actually save money, etc. He then asked me a question i havent heard before. He asked me if its worse than cigarettes or if i get more nicotine because of the amount of vapor i was blowing out. (.3 at 85watts pretty big clouds) I've never heard this question before and was wondering if anyone has, or if they know the answer. TIA :)

General consensus is that nicotine is not harmful in the quantities even the heaviest chain vaporer would go through and usually between 24-3mg.
Possibly get dizzy and the hiccups if its too much for the device your using at the time.

eLiquid not having the thousands of actually harmful chemicals thats the good thing.

Nicotine lets you know pretty dang quick, if you're taking in too much -- stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, tremor in your hands, hyper/jittery feeling... it's pretty uncomfortable, which is why it's so easy for us to self-titrate to hit the right level for our own bodies.

You beat me to it. Luckily, nicotine is quick to hit you and let you know that you've had too much, but it's also quick to pass as long as you stop vaping when you notice you've had too much.

Yep.. for me, the first sign of slight OD is that sharp pain in the stomach, it feels kinda like little gas pains all over the abdomen; if I just lay off for a few minutes, it passes and doesn't progress to any of the worse stuff (nausea = fate worse than death!). :D

^^^^^^This exactly. I learned the hard way when a friend of mine gave me a bottle of juice (Vape Wild - Sweet Complexity) a few weeks ago so I could try it. Why I didn't check the bottle for the nic level, I don't know.....I guess I was just excited that someone gave me a free bottle of juice.

So I loaded up a Delta II subtank with the free juice, set my mod for my usual 45 watts, and started vaping. The first few vapes weren't too terrible, but I thought "this juice is a bit harsh". Well, after a few minutes of vaping, I started to feel very dizzy and light-headed (almost to the point of cranking up my Jimi Hendrix playlist, lol). It was then I looked at the bottle and realized I was sub-ohming, at 45 watts, a bottle of 24mg nic juice, versus my usual 6mg juice.

The moral of the story is, first, double-check the nic level of the juice (of course), and secondly, as Andria pointed out, if your body is getting too much nic, it will let you know pretty damn quick.

Oh, that sounds SO familiar. I started vaping at 24 mg/ml on a Kanger PT2, 2.2 ohm heads at around 8 watts, and I bought my first dripper a month or two after I started vaping. Wrapped a 0.7 ohm coil and threw it on a mech and started vaping my happy little .... off - 24 mg at around 25 watts did NOT make me a happy vaper...

I am pretty sure I started turning green shortly thereafter, and I bought some 6 mg e-liquid that day.

I'm surprised no one is mentioning the fact that this guy was vaping 85 watts at a bus stop. No doubt you are attracting strangers asking strange questions. lol

In public I'm as discreet as I can be, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible. At home well that's a whole other story.

Edit: Forgot my Elements of Style.

To each their own. I, like you, try to be as discrete as possible, but we're all still vapers.

Sadly, for me, all the symptoms of too much nic are ones I experience constantly from health problems :(

I can actually tell by the taste though if juice is higher than 6mg. A friend recently sent me something to try, then told me she thought it was 9mg. I said, "Yes, it is. I knew on the first vape it was 9.". Lol! Of course I'm used to my equipment. I bet I couldn't have distinguished it at 9 if I had put it in a Protank. I may even have thought it was less than 6.

1: Is it worse than cigarettes:
No. It does not contain the tar and smoke particles which is what causes most of the damage.

2: Do you get more nicotine because of the amount of vapour you blow out:
How much nicotine you get depends on how much nicotine is in the liquid.
Since you can obviously use liquid with 0 nicotine you can't make a general statement about whether you will get more or less nicotine.
