Perhaps this question is a bit silly but for some reason, I don't understand why it doesn't seem reasonable.

My question is: Why can't you just stuff the e-cigarette with some type of vaporizeable material like tobacco? If the atomizer gets hot enough to vaporize the nicotine in the cartridge, why can't it vaporize it from tobacco.

I think the general concept of e-cigarettes is the same as normal vaporizers but just miniaturized.

I think it would be great if you could fill the cartridge with some nice organic tobacco and vape it.

There must be something I'm missing here right?

Thank you for any help on this.

It's the difference between tobacco combustion in terms of burning organic material and vaporizing a liquid into a gas. Some people have soaked tobacco and used the liquid as a means to vape you could OD yourself on the nicotine as you have no control over how much you get.

But if you like the idea you might do a search on "ploom" - a different type of device that uses tobacco.

I believe the main reason for this is because if you were to heat tobacco to its vaporization level, no nicotine would come with it. I'm not too sure about that, but otherwise tobacco vaporizers would be a hell of alot more popular. This is why, in order to get the nicotine, you have to bring the tobacco to its' combustion temperature.

A similar principal goes for cannibas vaporizers. Although, you do not have to burn the cannibas to extract the THC, you still can. THC vaporizes at a lower temperature than nicotine, I believe. Even still, vaporizing your weed is alot healthier than smoking it it still contains some harmful chemicals and carcinogens (to my understanding).

PG and glycerine have an even lower vaporizing temperature which is partly why they are safe to consume through the lungs.

Some of my facts might not be straight, someone please do the honors of correcting me :thumb:

From what I've read (and tested simply), the temperature of the atomizer goes up to about 165 degrees Celsius. This is obviously enough to boil many liquids and a perfect temperature to vaporize nicotine and ......... in their herbal forms.

Other sites tell me that vaporizing through an expensive vaporizer still vapes at a temperature of about 150-200 degrees for tobacco / ..........

I do agree that it might be too much nicotine intake at once. It would be impossible to know. I have gotten sick from taking hits of tobacco from a makeshift ..... Potential minor nicotine poisoning... stupid me.

I vape organic rolling tobacco almost full time in the iolite. In fact, nicotine along with a few other alkaloids are the first things to be released when the tobacco is warmed and it is well below combustion temperature. Anybody who thinks you cannot effectively vape tobacco or that you need to make a tincture to get it to work needs to look into it :)

I have no idea why it is not popular. It is cheap, effective, tastes good, a proven harm reduction method supported by doctors and cancer charities, go figure!

If you go into a head shop, the kind that sell all the bongs and hookah, you will find stuff to do that.

There are vaporizers that are sold for "tobacco" vaping, but everyone uses them to vape .......... But, all you have to do is find the right temp for tobacco and use that instead.

Hookahs use hot coals to vaporize the tobacco.

There are actually several options for vaporizing actual tobacco.

google "herbal vaporizer"...

The deal is, that for the material to be vaped, it has to somehow get into the atty. Without major redesign of the e-cig a solid like tobacco cannot wick through the wicking systems such as the atty bridge.

While the ploom and the iolite may handle solids. Our standard e-cigs require a liquid.
