Got off the cig-alikes (V2) about 1.5 months ago and purchased an Innokin EGO starter kit from a local B&M. Love the setup and vape experience and chasing the ADV.

Recently I switched from an iClear to the Kanger EVOD and love the later......but recently I am just blowing through coils. Switched from the 2.2 to 1.8 but still having issues. I vape ALOT but have to end up changing my coils every day or two because the vape production goes way down, also the juice gets really dark and it looks like it "gunks" up the wicks. Almost looks like its cooking the juice, taste is still ok. Using mostly 70/30 juice from MBV and Suicide Bunny. The juice from my local B&M is a 50/50 blend and I don't think it happens with this juice. Talked to the guys at the shop, they suggested the 1.8 coil, same issue.

Like the EVOD look and performance with fresh coil but may have o try something else

Any ideas?

Hi Kingsley, it sounds like you are using a liquid with a sweetener and its gunking your coils. Some liquids are notorious for this. If I have one I wash with hot water between every tank full and dry burn once vapor production drops in the evod (just youtube how to dry burn evod).

Personally once a liquid proves itself as a coil gunker I move on and dont use it after what I have is gone (should I even use that) but this is totally a personal choice because its a darn pain LOL. With non gunky juices I was getting weeks or so out of an evod head prior to switching to cartotanks. I was only getting maybe 2 weeks bc dryburning does wear out the coil as does using it all gunked with sweetener.

Also - just because its sweet doesnt mean it will gunk, it seems only some sweeteners do this. Also, the darker the juice is to start with - the more likely it seems to trash coils. You can usually find out on the reviews for the specific liquid on a vendor site. Generally someone posts that it is a coil gunker.

Hope this helps out some!!

I'm here, when I'm here
Is your EGO battery a vv/vw? If so, your volts/watts may be set too high. See Volts,Ohms & Watts

If not, it's like CreepyLady says. Could be the sweetener. I vape a blueberry waffle with extra maple syrup, which is kinda sweet, in a iclear30 and those coils (dual) last me at least 3 weeks.

Good luck and Happy Vaping!!:vapor:

I have had the same issue. I was blowing through coils like mad until I asked someone at the local vape shop. I was using 70/30 juice that had sweeteners in them. I changed to a 50/50 juice and try to stay away from the sweet stuff and haven't had any trouble since. The coils got gunked up with the residue from the sweeteners and tasted burnt no matter what i put in them. I now clean them between tanks and dry burn them. I clean the left over crud out with a can of compressed air (don't do it while burning though). This should do the trick for ya! Good luck!
