When I quit my 1 pk. a day habit over a year ago, I vaped 24 mg nic for about the first month. I found that since it does absorb more slowly in the lungs, I'd end up chain vaping almost to the point of getting sick before I got my "fix". I now work more on a "levels" platform. I vape 18 mg pretty heavy in the morning with my coffee to get my levels up, then maintain that level with casual vapes here and there throughout the day. Seems to work for me. ; )

One thing I do like...is I don't wake up having to rush to my stinky pack before my eyes are even open, as I did when I smoked. With vaping, I usually don't pick my device up until after my morning shower/shave and the coffee pot is done sputtering it's last drops of life's nectar into the pot... :)

I'm about a month and a half into this journey, and from reading on here, I think it is different for everybody. I started out on 18, and I'm still there, but I was a 2 pack a day smoker...sometimes more depending on my stress levels. I was vaping constantly, and still sometimes craving cigarettes, but in the beginning I did drop down to 3 packs a week instead of 10 packs in 5 days. Now I have an open pack of cigarettes stashed away, but I haven't touched a cigarette in ....um.....10 days I think. Anyway, I don't crave the cigarettes anymore, but I vape a lot. I do have my moments when I don't vape at all, but I'm still good. Every once in a few days, I think about a cigarette, but then I just vape and the moment passes. I'll do whatever I have to not to smoke again.

I started with 18mg juice. I am down to 6 mg juice and I have noticed I am no longer as addicted to nicotine as I once was. After reading numerous studies I realize that even at 18mg I was not getting the same amount of nicotine as an analog delivers. I've been vaping for 6 months and although it was hard for the first several weeks it got a lot easier afterwards and now I can go hours without vaping. That being said I usually vape every 30 minutes or so, mainly because I enjoy it. Also, it is a mental addiction at this point and I find that I vape in the same intervals I smoked.

I will agree that for new vapers the level of satisfaction an analog delivers is far greater than vaping does. All I can say is ask yourself why you are changing to vaping. Whether it is for financial of health reasons everyone does it for something. Stay strong and keep up the good fight. It gets easier down the road and soon you will find vaping(even at low nic levels) just as satisfying as cigarettes.
