Vaping strictly without nicotine?

Hey guys, So here's my situation. I don't smoke, and have only puffed cigarettes and cigars (didn't inhale, just like Clinton :p). However, two of my housemates smoke frequently, and I think that if I got a vaporizer and vaped strictly nicotineless, it would be nice to be able to look like I'm smoking with them and be able to be outside with them while they smoke without feeling awkward just standing there. So my main question is, do you think it's even worth getting a vaporizer just for vaping nicotineless solutions? Is the taste good at all with the flavored solutions? I would ideally like vaping to be another calorie-free craving, akin to chewing gum. However, if it doesn't taste good at all, then what's the point? Also, would I be getting a "throat hit" from a nicotineless solution? I'm asthmatic so I hope that it would not be a problem. BTW, I have been considering the 901 if I do get one.

I plan on weaning entirely off of nicotine and vaping only non-nicotine fluid eventually, but after twenty years, I know that I'll always have the desire to go through the "smoking" action, especially in bars or coffeeshops.

Yes, but my case is different. I don't, and have never really smoked, nor do I have any desire to get nicotine in my system. I just want to know if smoking nicotineless tastes good, and is worth spending ~$50 to have something pleasurably similar to chewing gum.

IMHO, you'll be wasting your money. If you haven't smoked before, this will not be pleasurable for you, at least not pleasurable enough to spend considerable money on it. It might give some hint of flavor, but nothing comparable to chewing gum or candy etc. Us smokers appreciate the flavor because we've all been conditioned to the tobacco or menthol 'flavor', so all these other flavors are a new thing. We're here mostly for the nicotine, flavors are an added bonus.

You'd also kind of be hurting our 'cause'. We really don't want to see non-smokers experimenting, it lends credence to our detractor's arguments.

agreed. rather expensive hobby just to look cool or be part of the crowd ;)

yes, sounds sarcastic and mean, but i mean it both ways. if you don't smoke, don't start just because it's fun, because chances are you WILL end up smoking. best you don't fight that battle.

if you want to puff, take a drag from theirs or buy cigars, still end up being cheaper than investing in ecigs.

$50!? I've spent $672.00 since April 21. Still less than I would have spent smoking.
Why do you want to share your roommates' bad habit. Are you going to stand outside with them in the rain, sleet, snow? I hope they see that you are smarter by not smoking. Maybe you should think about buying them each a 901 for Christmas.

Go for it, rossabo. Look here for details:

Okay,

Hmmm... your case makes it sound appealing. I guess $50 really isn't too bad, all things considered. I may decide to get it, and if I don't like it, sterilize it and give it to a friend. But I would like more opinions before making the purchase. Also, does anybody know what effects this may have on asthmetic people?

You know how asthma is: One thing aggrevates it another doesn't. One day, I'm ok around pine, the next it's choking me to death.

No one can responsibly answer your question. I've had asthma for 20 years and I smoked for 36 before I started vaping. I've had no problems, but others have. You could be allergic to the PG or the flavoring.

Why take the chance? Stick with the gum. :)

It will be a waste of money.. Plus it would make you look like a complete idiot puffing away at a metal pipe blowing vapor just to look cool.

Sorry, but being honest here. PVs are not about looking cool, or fitting in. They are an alternative method to deliver nicotine or at the very least deal with the psychological dependency of smoking.

One more small point.
Some flavors of "no nic" liquids (unless you mix them yourself with loranns or whatever) have "small amounts of nicotine" It's a disclaimer on some websites that sells no-nic.

Why would you want to risk the possibility of addicting your body?

"Just say no" ;) It's not worth it. Chew a bubble gum cigar.

I am new here but need to say something if you do not do it now JUST DONT DO IT.... I wish someone had told me 23 years ago that smoking could kill me and not to do it. Is one of the reasons I would never be the one to give a kids a smoke or buy them for them.

I really wish I could remember what it is like to think that smoking would make me look cool instead of stink and not being able to tell I stink and offend other people, have bad breathe when i go to the dentist. (Yes they can tell even if you chew gum, brush, rinse etc before going in) not to mention the reduction in being able to breathe and feeling out of shape. Not to mention the inability to taste some foods that I really love.

If you do not smoke now and you have asthma why take that chance with your health? or take the chance on getting hooked on something that is almost impossible to quit?

Ugh, I don't think most of you guys understand what I'm saying. My intentions are not to vape nicotine! Instead, I wanted to vape only the non-nicotine flavors, and was curious in how they tasted, if and how noticeable they are. I have and will have no intentions at all in trying anything with nicotine. I really don't see how vaping non-nicotine blends would lead to me suddenly craving nicotine and/or smoking real cigarettes. Having said that, I appreciate Princessdee informing me about the supposedly non-nicotine blends containing small traces of nicotine, so I will be cautioned and avoid those that contain nicotine.

Also, I'm not trying to make a political message! I'm not trying to get involved in the campaign to legalize or reduce restrictions on these or w/e. I respect you guys in using e-cigs as an alternative to smoking and campaigning for it, but that's not what I'm interested in myself. Hell, if anything, this would be a GOOD thing if I got one, so curious people, especially smokers, would learn about e-cigs. It's not a matter of me smoking, or even considering taking in nicotine as much as a matter of trying a cool new device that could be fun to use and what I thought would be good tasting. I just want your guys' opinions on how they taste and your thoughts in general.

So I think that I'm going to be doing a bit more research into everything, and then make up my mind whether or not I want to buy one for myself. I will buy one for my uncle who smokes nonetheless. Please, I would like to hear further insights and suggestions. But if it's "don't mess around and possibly get hooked on smoking," please explain in detail the reasons why I might or don't bother saying it.

it's more than fifty bucks is my point, you'll want spare batts and spare atty's, different juices to try, buying ingredients to make your own..it can add up quickly. don't do it, it's not worth it....

Junior, it's called the domino effect and the normal human being has the ability to convince it's self that anything is alright for the right reasons. If you want to risk the chance of that ball and chain for the rest of your days like the rest of us smokers, that's up to you. The old saying "if you play with fire long enough you'll get burnt" IS NOT BS. It's my belief that if your doing something to "fit in" maybe you need to look at why instead of playing with fire.

I use 0mg e-juice from Heaven Gifts (RY4 and Marlboro) and have no throat hit at all. My PV is DSE901. I've tried make my own e-juice with PG and Loran flavors and have no throat hit too.

Some vapers wrote they use vinigar, lemon juice, menthol, vodka, someone Loran flavors and have a throat hit with zero nicotine e-juice. I've tried but I have not throat hit too...

May be I do something wrong. Can someone recomend me how I can get throat hit without nicotine on my DSE901?

Which normal voltage devices have a strongest throat hit with 0mg e-juices?
Which 0mg juices the best here?
