As a 30 year, 40 a day smoker I used to smoke a lot :)

I realise everyone is different but for me I vape completely differently than the way I smoke.

The FIRST thing I used to do when I woke up was have a cigarette, now even though I'm still addicted to nicotine that craving has vanished, it's usually half an hour before I start to vape. (I think part of that is now I wake up thirsty and a cup of tea is more important LOL)

The other main change is whereas before a cigarette was maybe 10-15 puffs, with the ecigs I only have 1-2 and then put it down for a while, usually 30 mins and then 1-2 puffs again.

Being addicted for so long, it's suprising to me how this happened straight away after the switch.

Hi Tigggger and welcome!
I'm the exact opposite. :) I now vape first thing while I used to wait until I got in my car to go to work. At home, I vape pretty much constantly where I used to go out on the balcony every once in a while.
At work, I've pretty much stayed the same, though, since I go out on "smoke breaks" with my friend and don't vape otherwise.

I think that for many of us the cravings were amplified by the additives in cigarettes beyond the nicotine. I've found that if I go a couple hours without vaping, I want a vape badly but nothing like the craving for a smoke, which was pretty extreme. I started at 24mg and it overcame the cravings, and now I'm at 12mg for the most part.

Howdy folks,
Yeah, it's kinda strange how we can all have a lot of the same habits before vaping and see that it changed for each of us once we started vaping instead of smoking.

My beginnings are the same, get up, start coffee, feed dogs, grab a smoking device (was cig now PV), and start in while waiting for the coffee). Used to smoke 2 cigs right away, drink my coffee, and grab a smoke whenever throughout the day. Killed 1.5 PAD that way. Never smoke in the house, always garage of one of the yards.

Now, I vape all day long, it's always in reach, most times in always in one hand or the other. I vape more than I smoked, no doubt about that.

We were all addicted to the chemicals and nic in cigs, but maybe some were more addicted (than others) to other aspects of smoking? The movement of bringing the cig to our mouth, the oral fixation, our using needing a smoke to excuse yourself from wherever you find yourself at that moment, etc.

Who knows what evil lurks?

Have a good day,
Big Mac
