Day one with my 510 kit yesterday. I'm often in environments where I can't vape or smoke for a couple hours. Usually I'll have a smoke and be OK for 2 hours before getting cravings. Yesterday I took about 15 good puffs out of the 510 and went into a meeting. About 30 min in, I started getting bad cravings, headaches, dizziness- all the signs I get when I really effin' need a smoke.

Just wondering, do any of you find that the vape fix doesn't last as long as the analog fix?

Nicotine's "feel good" effect is because it increases dopamine levels in the brain. Both eliquid and cigs provide nicotine, though cigs also include some freebase nicotine, which gives faster uptake (the feel good kicks in faster).

Cigs, in addition to nicotine, contain certain other chemicals lumped under the term MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors). MAOIs extend how long the dopamine stays active. Classic eliquids don't have MAOIs, so the feel good wears off faster.

So, net, vaping takes a bit longer for the nicotine effects to kick in than smoking, and the feel good lasts a shorter time. Over time the majority of people adjust to this, many, though by no means all, will end up cutting nic strength and/or vaping frequency.

That's because when you take a Hit off an e-Cig you're not getting the Other 2,999 Chemicals that is in an Analog.

Sure, Nicotine is Addicting. But I'm a Firm Believer that I was More Addicted to all the Chemicals that they put in Analogs than I was to Nicotine.

They Don't put all those Chemicals in Analogs because it is Cheaper. It Isn't. And they do it because it is good for you. Because they Aren’t. They do it because they Know how Hard it is to Quit Them. Because it Is.

I'm using a Joyetech 510 kit with atomizers, 18 mg/ml juice. I smoke American Spirit Yellows (lights), about half a pack per day- but I also use a nicotine patch 14mg during the day. I only smoke the analogs at night and on weekends. I've purposely been doing this to kick the addiction to the other chemicals (of which there are less in American Spirits anyway). I do not vape or smoke while wearing the patch, and always wait 90 min. after taking off the patch to do either.

The symptoms I got last night are definitely withdrawal, I'm all too familiar with them. When I have too much I get a headache and nausea, which happened even when I tried the patch at too high of a dose- so my overdose symptoms are not from the extra chemicals in analogs, but from nicotine in general.

I suspect @markfm nailed it, vaping takes a bit longer to kick in and doesn't last as long. Very likely that I overdosed at first, then started getting cravings.

Many people are just plain "Whacked" for the first week aftr they Switch to e-Cigerettes. I know I was.

My advise is to Grit your Teeth, Drink a Lot of Water and just Don't Smoke any Analogs. It will get Better Soon.

Much Better.

Go to EC blends and get some 24mg juice. You said atomizers, are you dripping directly into the atomizer or using a cartridge?

EC is famous for zoomin' quick shipping.Like if you order today you could have it on Monday or Tuesday. :) Try Cuban Gold and 7-leaf and anything else that you might want to mess with. Something about the Cuban cigar flavors has a nice"why do I smell smoke on my mustache" effect that will probably help.

American Spirit has a stronger bouquet/flavor, I know from experience.

Stay with it :)

Cigarette puff =/= ECigarette puff, period.

According to different studies the ecigarette nicotine absorption rate is somewhere in vincinity of 10%-30% compare to regular cigs.
So your 15 puffs should equal about 1/3-1/10 of a single cig.

Solution - use the same 18 mg you have but just up the ecig pufs number.
