Well. I caught some weird plague last week. Pretty much some sort of flu. So I had a sore throat, cough, sneeze, and fever, and the whole 9 yards.

This may seem odd, or make perfect sense, but I restrained from vaping the first day of sickness. Then I decided I needed a couple hits. I found that my throat felt better and less scratchy when I took a couple hits. Then I decided to vape some more. Instead of a dry scratchy cough, I had that phlegm loosening cough. So vaping has helped me while sick.. =)

Funny you should say that - exactly the same thing happened to me last week.
My wife now has it, and she's complaining of a sore throat as one of her main symptoms.
My sore throat went away every morning as soon as I vaped.
I put this down to the glycerin in the vapor.

The last time I got sick was over a year ago.
It was while I was lying in bed feeling sorry for myself that I started researching vaping.
I felt like an idiot getting out of bed and going outside to smoke, so I thought I would maybe get a vaporizer to keep around for when I couldn't smoke.

When I was better, I went out and bought a kit, and that was the end of smoking for me.

Two things to take away from this:

Because being sick was what led to me buy a vaporizer, I know exactly when the last time I got sick was.
I normally get three or four colds a year, but I didn't get one for over a year since I quit smoking and started vaping.

The other thing is that it's possible that that cold saved my life.
It was having a cold that made me take a closer look at vaping.
Vaping allowed me to instantly quit smoking, something I thought would never happen

@MrStik - I don't doubt that it helped you at all. IMO, the warm, moist vapor soothes your throat and also loosens the congestion in your lungs...so you can get rid of it easier. Seems to work like the old-fashioned, water-filled, plug in, vaporizer does, that people frequently used to use...when wanting to break up congestion.

I've also seen somewhere online in the past year, (using a different PC now, so can't find it in my bookmarks), that there appears to also be beneficial effects to the lungs...from breathing in the warm, moist vapor while vaping. Seems that helps the lungs repair themselves more rapidly after quitting the smokes.

I know from firsthand knowledge that it's helped mine, even though I don't inhale hardly any of my vapor. I was diagnosed with mild COPD about 12 years before I quit smoking in 2014, and have been vaping ever since. Now, there is no evidence of it on my chest X-rays, nor in the sound of my breathing when my doctor checks my lungs & breathing. Also, after my latest spirometer test, my doctor was amazed that my new results were as great as they were. They were so good that he even double-checked with me, that I'd really smoked 1 - 1 1/2 PAD for 42+ years...before he told me the terrific results.

First off, sorry to hear about your illness. I had the same exact thing a few weeks ago, knocked me on my .... big time. Since I started vaping a couple years ago, I get sick less and the symptoms are less as well. I believe the capsulation of viruses in PG is a beneficial side effect of vaping. The lubricating of the throat and lungs while sick may have merit as well. There were numerous threads awhile back concerning this and I agreed with all of them.
