Hello all,
I'm new here, thus I'm posting in the new members thread.

I have owned the new ecom for about a month now. Everything is great - huge vapor, no leaks, nothing to complain about except for the atomzers. They seem to burn out very easily. After only a few weeks, the vapor gets harsh. When I open the atomizer up, the wicks are black and pretty much fused to the coil.

I have two questions.
1. How can I prolong the life of the atomizers?
2. Is there anyway to rebuild or restore them?

Since there aren't many reviews/limited information on the ecom, I would be glad to answer some questions as well.

No activity here yet, for several reasons: Too new, too expensive, completely proprietary, poorly explained by Joyetech and... it's yet another tank setup by Joyetech. Love 'em or hate 'em, a lot of people hate Joyetech tank systems and to think they made an expensive APV that can only fit a proprietary tank setup... bad marketing idea. Because it's been made so proprietary, at that pricing it's gonna have a hard time finding any love in the marketplace. Thus all the silence about it.

Once you get your five posts in you may want to ask in the Cignot vendor forum since the owner there is a registered Joyetech supplier. If anyone knows if those attys can be successfully cleaned and rebuilt it would be Vicki from Cignot. Cignot

Wow. You posted what I deleted (in my head) earlier today. Joyetech are losing more customers than they are gaining in the UK. They might "think" they are burning up the highway because there are just SO many newbies here in Britain.
Trouble is, old boys (Joyetech), one day the newbie train will slow down.
Most smokers have now tried e-cigs. You sold millions of kits (hardware) thanks to Totally Wicked...but people are now turning away. Mark my words.

To the OP, you can also "dry burn" your coils, which burns off gunk into ash. Clean them in hot water, dry burn, clean again. That will help with getting rid of some of the gunk. Or rebuild the coils.

My first model was the eCom, and it has good features. So what if it is a hybrid and it's a bit more expensive. Very sleek design, USB passthrough, airflow control from the top, no leakage, no whisteling sound like on the aerotank or others, variable volt which is easy to use. It got great vapor. It's widely available. 65€ and you're ready to go and won't look back to cigarettes.

The only "easy to use" device that beats the eCom IMHO is a MVP with an Aspire Nautilus. Just because Joyetech "dared" to release a hybrid alongside of other atomizers people shouldn't get upset.

The cost for coils isn't really that high, if you spend 5€ every few weeks or less so what? Time is money. And possibly the quality control on these heads is better than the cheap heads for other atomizers? And people pay a bit of a premium for an elegant design. And it IS elegant.

I have purchase the ecom since over the two month, honestly i purchase it because i like it design, however since it arrive i was unable to use due to gurgling and e-juice going to mount and the performance was too bad. i try to search online I could not find anything, then i decided to take the atomizer a part and i found that it similar in the design to the protank one. they just add a ceramic container at the bottom. so i try to build a new nano coil and i use cotton as a wick. and i found that it much easier to build than the protank. the ceramic has two hole so each lead leg go into it which will lower the chance of getting your coil to short.
Now i only use this device outside, i try to build the coil around 1.8ohm as if it goes lower it will not work the battery protection will not allow the battery to fire.
