I'm very new to vaping, and I recently purchased the Joyetech eCom Mega and the eGrip. I have been happier with the eCom because it doesn't feel like I'm pulling liquid when I vape like on the eGrip. But it still floods from time to time and it's a real hassle especially if I just filled the tank. I'm wondering if I'll need to upgrade and start building my own coils to remedy this, which I'm hesitant to do since I don't know a lot about it. Also, I was looking for an all day vaping flavor. I tried a raspberry custard a long time ago and I loved it, but I can't find a good one anywhere. I'm looking for 100% VG because I dont like the harsh throat hit from PG. Please help, I've been back and forth between cigarettes and my eCig because of this problem.

I haven't found a system or tank that doesn't flood occasionally, but when I went simple, I found one of the best for me. I use an Aspire BVC 3ml tank and an upgraded Ego C battery. I have been amazed at how well they work. I am still looking, however, because I want a pyrex tank with an interchangeable drip tip. The Protank series has been a disappointment. My all day Vape used to be Kick Bass Vape's Special K, but it is currently unavailable. I have switched to Nicoticket's "The Virus" /N1H1 tobacco Vape for my all day Vape and I love it. I also use the Company's "Gravity" which in IMHO is the best fruit Vape available. Now I only Vape 6 mg nicotene, which I have been told has a lot to do with the mild, if not completely absent throat hit, which I like. I do have the larger Protank but don't have a battery large enough to staplize the weight. Any suggestions from this learned group?

First, to fix a flooded atomizer take your tank off the battery and blow through the mouthpiece (with a paper towel under it or cover the airflow hole). This will drain the extra eliquid.

When you inhale, take a long smooth draw vs a short sharp draw. This will prevent extra eliquid from being pulled into your coils and flooding it. Inhalation technique with an e-cigarette

Whenever you first sense that your atomizer is beginning to flood try this:
1. Open up the airflow so when you take a hit you are not pulling in as much juice into your coils (if your tank has airflow control) .
2. Raise your voltage or wattage if your battery allows you to do this. This will vaporize more eliquid.
3. Tip your battery up (and take a few hits). By tipping it up you will prevent more eliquid from being fed into the coils.

Give one or all of these a try.:)

Thank you, I will try them all and see which works best. Any tips on where to buy liquid or what kinds are good?

There really is a reason there are so many flavors out there... Different strokes, y'know? My best suggestion is to go find a vape shop, sit at their flavor bar, and don't leave until you find something you like. If I want a tobacco flavor on a whim, I buy 555, RY4, or Infused Eliquids Papa's Tobacco. If I'm feeling a sweet vape, I buy Cuttwood Boss Reserve or Sugar Bear. If I'm feeling a fruity vape, I buy Moon Mountain Vapors Cap'n Comet.

Also, Max VG is hell on tanks, try to get liquid with increased VG, but Max VG is for dripping.

Ok, could that have anything to do with why my coils keep flooding?

If anything, high VG in a tank might give you "dry hits" (not flooding) due to its high viscosity. Many people have to add a few drops of distilled water per ml of juice just to thin out their high VG juice so it wicks better.

Flavor is so subjective that the only thing many of us can tell you is that for every recommendation posted (and I'm talking high end juice), there will probably be even numbers regarding those who love it, those who hate it, and those who think it's okay but not something they would purchase again. Absolutely nothing wrong with the juice, no off flavors, no alcohol/perfume taste, etc. That's how subjective juice is.

I would suggest visiting as many local vape shops as you can and spending lots of time sampling their flavors. Many local shops are now carrying many other high end juice lines in addition to their own line that you can sample before you purchase. I'll pay more initially at my local vape shop when I discover a new flavor I like but will often then place repeat orders online when there are sales.

All that said -- Ahlusion is my go-to vendor to juice and where I purchase most my juice. Peppermint Bark, Lemon Vanilla Cake, Caramel Wild Wood, Caramel Pear (both Black & White) Tea, Coconut Boba Tea, the list goes on and on!:) Fan Club here on ECF: Ahlusion E-Juice Part 3.

Nicoticket is also a great juice vendor if you love desert and tobacco vapes. Here is their Forum on ECF: Nicoticket Forum

I also LOVE:

1. Omega Vapes Breeze
2. Cosmic Fogs Milk & Honey
3. Ripe Vapes Pear Almond.

Giant Vapes and EJuices are great places to shop when looking to pick up flavors from multiple high quality vendor lines of juice.

Never heard of your atty and have no experience with the egrip. So can't say what your issue is.. But tank flood and leak, on occasion. Usually from a mistake you made filling or servicing it or from being a crappy tank. IMO, the best starter would be a VV/VW device in the 20Watts or less variety and a good clearo tank like a Kanger or Aspire or simular. If the beginner is interested in building coils DIY the a Kayfun or the like would be my choice.

As for Juice can't help on flavor, as I only like Tobacco based flavors and then only NET types. My favorite Vendor is www.Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes, but I have not really done a lots of shopping. I have looked at my local B&M shops, but they don't even know what NET means. The worst part being the pricing is higher than online, >25% for juice and 150% or more for hardware and supplies. I wish this wonderful economy we have going these days allowed the Local B&M to be competitive. Wish I could by local, but I can't see paying $50-100 for a mod clone I can get online for $20.

Wow. What a lot of info. I'm learning so much! A suggestion on finding a juice you like; I'm subscribed to a monthly sampler box of juices. I have trouble at VapeLounges because I now Vape at 6 mg and most lounges are at 12 or 16 mg here in SAT. I can't take the harshness and the flavor is hidden by the instant throat hit. Trying to get my dripping hardware so I can start next month. I'm on the Zample program. I like it because you aren't locked into a contract and can quit any time!

The zamplebox will give you good ideas of the quality of juice from various vendors. Juice bars can still be good to determine the flavor profiles you like best, just don't inhale. You'll still absorb nic, but just take it easy.
