Vapor, and Tar

I've heard people say that when you quit smoking you cough up some or all of the residual tar in your lungs. I was a 1 pack lights / (MODERATED) per day smoker for 10 years and I quit analogs a month ago. Ever since I quit I've noticed that the black stuff I cough up is less often, and concentrated black crap thats no longer surrounded by flegm / loog (sorry not trying to gross anyone out). Others I've talked to about quitting analogs (using any method) say that the tar expels itself over the first week or 2 then stops. I'm wondering if its still tar from analogs coming out, or if its due to the (MODERATED) . I'm looking into moving away from combustion completely but waiting for a few more bucks in my pocket to get started.

Anyone else out there that can share their similar experience?

It is common for folks to go through the physical withdraw symptoms of quitting smoking when they start vaping. When I switched, I was fine for the first few days and then felt like I had the flu for a couple weeks (coughed up all kinds of horrible looking stuff). Came out the back side of that and have continually felt better and healthier than I had in many years.

This happened to me during one of my go rounds with quitting , after about the 5th day I started feeling pretty sick - apparently its somewhat normal as your body is finally able to flush the toxins that have been piling up for so long from the constant smoking. I actually haven't had any really bad hacking / coughing stuff up fits since I went back on the vapor in December, I am not to worried about it my breathing has improved my chest doesn't feel all crackly and gunky anymore so I am just going to go with it.

Chris,I never had a black (dark brown ) phlegm and i was doing 50 cigarettes a day until a month after I quit smoking, I was seeing it for a few days only in the mornings blowing out my nose

Err I have no problem with moderating a forum. I feel its good. However, whatever was moderated out of this particular post makes it hard to understand what the OP is talking about.

Well he says he was smoking (censored) a day, and at the bottom it says edited to remove drug references, you shouldn't have to use your imagination too much here. :)

I never really coughed up anything when I quit, in fact I used to cough up a little brown phlegm when I smoked but that stopped completely when I quit. So I guess everyone is different here, maybe the crap is permanently deposited :D
