My buddy's build is 0.08Ω. Two coils of twisted 24G wire. With this build, his high-end brass mod maintains a voltage drop of about 0.1V.

...

That's OK for Average People.

But I use a 0.004Ω Quad Coil. It's works Great at 11.5 Volts using Triple Stacked Batteries. And I have Drilled out my RBA Holes to 11mm.

I can Only use it Outdoors though because it sets off the Smoke Alarm in my House.

So what battery is your buddy using that can safely handle the 51.25amps he's drawing w/ a fresh battery?

I truly hope he meant .8 ohms, but I doubt it. Can you imagine accidentally putting that battery in backwards and getting shocked? Sorry, but there's ignorance, then there's stupidity. I hope we don't see him on the news...........:unsure:

I find your assumptions attributing me some level of stupidity insulting. Again, vaping is a hobby, and it should remain fun for anyone who chooses to get involved. So long as the proper safety precautions are taken, I see no legitimate reason not to push your hobbies to their maximum potential. This response was not meant to offend anyone, but in the future, I suggest you stray away from assuming that the OP is unknowledgeable or foolish. Let's all have fun, huh?

Accidents happen even with proper safety precautions, but even more so when you're pushing the limits. No offense, but my concern here is less for the damage you guys may do to yourselves but to the damage that your stories, when they hit the media, will do to everyone else. The vaping movement is already under fire and every risk you take is a risk to all of us.

Where's he get atomizers and batteries that don't have voltage drop?

I choose to rely on continuous current ratings, not overcurrent ratings... I'm sure I would catch flak for how I use 18350's, but I also know I'm no where near the continuous rating from in line voltmeters. That "push it to the limit" song is in my head now... thanks for that...

I'll just leave it at this...

I have slight ptsd from getting shocked at work..it hasn't happened in a while, but probably because I know what it's like getting hit from static and random occasions of being too sweaty grabbing a fuse box...240V wakes up the senses.. but all these shocks were low in current..still potentially lethal, but no where near what this cool guy is doing.

But I can't imagine they would be imagining much after getting hit with 51amps... factoring in the fact that they are getting an almost 100% efficiency. I wonder how many people have experienced leakage..high current tends to try to figure out every possible direction it can go in.

What kind of necessary precautions could you even take when pulling 50 or so amps out of batteries that only have 30amp total on them?

I said nothing about his batteries, as I don't know what kind he uses. Presumably, he would stack, but his safety is not my priority. Mine is.

Ohm's Law Calculator

The lowest coil I've ever run is 0.18Ω. Do the math. Don't condemn me for a friend of mine's idiocy.

Safety should be a Concern for the People you know.

If you Friend's Mod Blows Up because he is a Dolt. Well, so be it.

But If you Know he is Doing something Stupid and Don't at least try to Talk to Him About it, well, how would that make You feel?

I'm not going to lecture you on safety, that's already been done, but I do have a question. Why would you drill out your air holes, potentially ruining that atomizer for other builds, instead of "wasting" the $.50 worth(or probably much less) of materials to just build a slightly higher resistance coil? Add a wrap, problem solved.

He is an acquaintance. Just someone who frequents my local B&M. And zoiDman, I've tried.

If you tried to Talk to Someone like that and they aren't Receptive or Don't see any Problem, then you did what you can do.

There's and Old Say'n... "You can Lead a Horse to Water. But you Can't make Him Drink."

That applies to Stupid Horses Also.

I greatly appreciate the sincerity of your concerns. Perhaps my pal's playing it a bit irrationally. He pursues a massive vapor cloud without really taking the necessary precautions to do so. Regardless, the care and input is one of the reasons I use this site, and keep coming back. Thanks all.

How many times have you had a battery melt down on you?

[Actually what I'd really like to ask is if you've considered using a 12 volt car battery.... part of me wonders if that would only be worse]
