I might have changed my mind already.. after that video I got the winds.. no wait, I mean I threw caution to the wind.. ya thats the saying... I sacrificed the lifespan of one of my screwdrivers and did some work on it... I only have duct tape, a hammer, and some wd-40, but I find most things can be modded with those tools.... anyway, I ended up creating a new device I am calling the "CartDriver"... catchy huh, get it, screwdriver that vapes cartomizers.... I don't mean to take anything away from the V4L products that surround the cartomizer, I just can't go back to the smaller batteries... interested to see what you have up your sleeve for us Steve.

LOL.. As I was writing this, my supermodel wife just came upstairs to my office (naked of course) and asked for me to change batteries and cartomizer to a different flavor...she is hooked.. hasn't had an analog all day.. so proud...I might just give her all of the stuff I bought her instead of handing it out like candy...

It works on mine tried it a couple time, was it done processing? i posted the link before it was done processing and i bet thats it, i tried opening it in a new window and several tabs, sound worked in all?...im not tryin to be sarcastic, but is your sound up? i had my head phones plugged in the other day and that happened to me, had it full blast before i realized that tiny squeak was my headphones lol

were you referring to the batteries? Every time i slide the complete unit into the little sleeve it activates (both batteries) and you can hear the faint "zip" sound as it rubs over the threads in the sleeve..and it lights her up like 90% of the time. if its an air switch, it's gotta be shockingly sensitive, as you can breathe through that case uninhibited. In either case it's probably best not to put the cig in that sleeve battery first, although I think you'd be ok if you put it in mouthpiece first. I never use the sleeve anyhow as i literally breathe through the thing anyhow haha! It's not something i put away unless im asleep.

There are two types of battery activation switches, sound and air pressure. the air pressure switches are activated by air pressure as you draw in, and the sound switches are activated by the sound of air passing through and past the sensor... sound switches are a little more reliable as they are less likely to get gummed up through refilling malfunctions (juice in the battery). I think most ecig makers are switching to the sound switches. they require a specific range of sound frequencies to activate, and are very difficult to activate accidentally, although there have been reports of loud music, specific unusual sounds, and cases such as mine, where a little cloth case or shirt pocket material could activate them.

This is one of the primary reasons battery cutoffs exist...for the event of accidental triggering via sound or pressure, or in the case of a pressure switch...gettin gummed up and locked in the on position..the cutoff is a safety feature that will likely be around for a while for that reason.

My chief concern here would prematurely killing a cart with overvoltage, but if it's working, its working what can i say? Cartomizer life span plus screwdriver battery lifespan is a little scary, cause i do quit vaping for a few seconds to change batteries when im away from the USB...I guess it would allow you to like, vape longer at a time haha, that few seconds to change a battery are a killer LOL

Ive had it go off as i slip it into my scrub shirt pocket beside my rather cumbersome Daxian T32+ phone...its twice as wide as the VK, and a couple of times while it was knocking around *in* the pocket. Maybe they make the batteries in both types? it was a *rattling* fit in the pocket with my phone, a hole big enough for a good sized index finger and of course the VK is smaller than that.

I thought about that as well, but then if you think about it, what does your passthru run at. I hooked it up to a multimeter (you want to see funny, try activating the passthru while keeping the connections and reading the display) and it read over 5 volts at max. My screwdriver runs at max constant 4.2 volts, so my theory is that it should be fine.

My wife is plenty P/O'd with me for using her cartomizers... lol.. we drove to our cottage last night and I hooked up a marlboro cart to my screwdriver. When she saw it she let her jaw sit open for a few seconds (caught it with my peripheral super wife vision) before going on and on about how much i had spent on juice and devices and and and (sparing you the rest, it starts to sound like charlie browns teacher after a while anyway), and then I use the cartomizer... I think once I actually get to refill a cart, i will be completely converted.

I hope what steve was referring to that he will be releasing soon will be an adapter. I have to believe that I can make one for the 901 and 510 battery connections, but a real one from V4L would be soooo nice and possibly prevent me burning the house down with my soldering iron.

Sounds like fun, with the Sd et, but, what I am doin, is gonna give you the finest vapin using cartomizers anywhere....and the damn batteries will last for 2 or more carts.............. manual seitch, extra power, extra vapor, extra fun...............should hopefully be finidhed developing next week

In my opinion, I wouldn't want a battery with a button, I love the idea of more protection from sticky switch and more power. I would definitely get one if the button was less visible or hidden, or maybe not risen? I know my opinion wont probably matter but I'm just saying.

i kinda agree with that, a button would rock if it werent so easy to damage. my 901 passthrough has a button that is just too fragile for my liking, if it ever falls out, its lost for sure. I'm overjoyed with my VK passthrough, it hammers hard all day long, lets me save my batteries for when i'm out and about...in theory... unfortunately my wife keeps takin them (there's no computer near her TV chair) so that plan still needs work LOL.
