Vapor-Lounge
(E-cigarette users turn to 'vapor lounges)

This really isn't E-cigs in the News because it highlights 1 vendor.
However, it really struck home with me how far our movement
has come in the last few years.

Reminds me of my favorite vendor who recently outgrew
his e-cig store front and moved to a larger location to have
plenty of room with chairs for vapers to hang-out and socialize.

From the article
"For now, the lounge features a six-seat bar area with a flat-screen television
and Wi-Fi service. The atmosphere inside the storefront is serene, with
vintage decor as a throwback to an era when smoking was glamorized."

Just got off the phone with my favorite vendor (not local to me)
They recently had to move to larger location, as I previously mentioned,
and just was told they are now planning to open another store front
in the same city. They said business continues to explode to the point
they are frustrated with how much supplies to order ... They recently
doubled their orders thinking they might be overstocked and found
they under estimated.

They said their on-line sales continues to increase.

There are probably many such stories.
We've come a long ways baby

Yeah, I know BP and their employees at the FDA have negative plans
for PVs ... They won't go high-profile again until after the election.
Wouldn't want to sway any present Nanny State Lovers.

Would really be interesting to know FOR SURE how many in the States
are now e-smoking as well as in countries around the world. I don't think
there really is any way to know for sure ... just estimates.

The numbers must be increasing at a pronominal rate.
:toast:

Approximately 2.5 million in the United States, but that obviously doesn't include people who pay for their supplies in cash.

Nationwide surveys conducted in 2010 by the CDC and Legacy Foundation both found that 2.5 million Americans had used an e-cigarette in the past 30 days (which is what the federal government defines as a "current user").

But since e-cigarette sales have tripled or quadrupled in the past two years, I suspect that the number of e-cigarette users has similarly tripled or quadrupled in the past several years. So there's probably 7.5 - 10 million current vapers in the US.

It would be far more helpful to know the percentage (and corresponding number) of daily e-cigarette users, as that's who consumes the overwhelming majority of the products, and many or most of them have quit smoking.

Is information on revenue from tobacco taxes available anywhere?
Seeing how that has changed over the last few years might tell us a lot about how many people are vaping.
Good question.
:)

I think 7.5 - 10 million current vapers in the US
should be a reason to celebrate !!
