Vapor: more air, more vapor?

So, I'm vaping my Tornado, i.e. eGo from Totallywicked. I'm new, I'll admit and have nothing really to compare it to. I'm waiting for a batt to die so I can scrounge the connector and build a 5v juicebox. Until then I'm still trying to find the best ways to produce more vapor.

The eGo has a cone. The cone effectively restricts airflow to the atty. The vapor is "ok" in my opinion. I take the cone off I get more vapor. With the cone off I unscrew the atty a smidge and get a bit more vapor but, slightly less flavor. Or it could be my tastebuds are overworked playing around with vaping.

I've noticed while looking in the atty and pressing the button that not a lot of vapor is forming. I blow into it and more vapor is produced. So for all you experts out there would drilling a tiny hole in the atty effectively increase airflow thereby increasing vapor. This isn't something I've seen discussed. Your thoughts?

It's a balance. Blowing more air in heats the atomizer a bit quicker, but at some point it actually cools it down and moves the fluid away from the coil which would make it produce less. Also, once the airflow is at a certain point, the vapor can be diffused a bit too much by the amount of air being sucked through resulting in a sub-par hit.

If you think of it like a car's engine it helps. (although the analogy isn't perfect) Too much air, it runs hotter, too much fuel, it just doesn't run right. I guess both attys and engines do flood...

The best advice I could give is try to find a happy medium where you personally like how it hits.

Have you tried using various attys on it? A bad or clogged atty could be the problem.

Using carts or cartomizers? Might trying dripping as I've found it to produce the most vapor and flavor on the eGo. There are many threads here discussing method. Also, I've found that cartomizers with the eGo cone do restrict airflow too much for me IMHO. I do use them for long trips though as dripping and driving don't go together.

Using PG? 100% PG isn't going to give you clouds of vapor no matter what you do. Many use an 80/20 mix to get the vapor clouds without losing flavor.

And as you mentioned, it could be tastebuds if you're just starting out or your method of vaping. There is a learning curve afterall. Long, slow drags are the trick.
