I just got in some cartomizers along with my 510 adapters (I use 510s). The question I have is this...

I know that the vapor production is less, by whatever margin, on the KR-808 from what I've read. But, I think that this adapter is allowing too much airflow and I am barely getting vapor at all.

These were prefilled cartos. I cleaned and refilled one with my normal liquid, same issue.

I wrapped my fingers around the adapter to try to blow the air holes and it "seems" to help.

Any suggestions on this? Anyone else with same experience? I don't want to use a piece of tape (messy) or anything toxic like glue to fill the holes.

Somebody here said they jabbed a wooden toothpick point into one of the holes, snapped it off neatly and got pretty good results.

You can also snip the top off one of the silicone condoms apparently and use it as a sleeve.

I doubt that the wood would burn, and I know the silicone won't, so neither of those methods will kill ya! :)

I wish my 510 to KR adaptors would hurry up and arrive...I have 50+ brand spankin' cartomizers here! :-x

BSF: where'd you get your 510 -> cartomizer adapters?

I got mine at Altsmoke and even on the Little Chuck batt'y mod, I thought the airflow was way too light and vapor was way down (even from a KR808), until I tried a few things:
1. Slow, gentle mouth inhale: as long as I didn't suck in like using a drinking straw, I could get decent vapor out of the carto.

2. Changed my inhale habit: I was a "mouth inhaler", where I'd draw vapor into my mouth, then inhale. That definitely highlighted the light draw on those adapters and needed to use option 1 above to get decent vapor.

But when I tried a "direct lung" inhale, where I'd take a pull on it from my lungs, I'd get a better/harder draw, with tons of vapor output.

3. Added a couple of drops of VG-based juice in the same flavor of the PG I was using: works great to increase vapor without degrading flavor, but it can be tough to get the 2 in the same flavor. If you have a real strong flavor, a couple drops of straight VG could do it.

If I can get my vid cam to work, I'll try to post some kind of comparison vid, although highlighting draw methods would be tough...

Another thought: I first heard of 510->carto's use from DaMulta, who used a couple of adapters to get it to work: 510 -> 901 and 901-> carto and he complained on the same thing as you. He partially covered the hole on the 901->carto to get a better draw. I've also heard of cutting the carto's rubber caps down like a sleeve and partially covering the holes as well. Don't think I'd recommend the broken toothpick thing...

Great solution if you don't wish to dilute the flavour. :thumb:

I believe that Health Cabin have launched a whole range of VG juice, so you could pick up most of the generic/basic flavours pretty cheap if you did a juice-run there. :)

BSF: where'd you get your 510 -> cartomizer adapters?

I got one with my VP PT from Vapor Talk Store.

The normal cartomizers just do not have the vapor out put the 510 does, on their own batteries, on their own passthrough, or the VP PT or 510 battery.

I sometimes think I get better TH from them than the 510, and they have good flavor. So while I use them out and about, I am back to the 510 plume machine at home.

As someone mentioned, taking a long slow, not hard, inhale will get you more vapor. Adding VG will make more, as will filling your own with VG liquid.

I believe V4L is getting some all VG carts in stock soon, can't wait to try those.
