hi, since were kinda new to this vaping , we been checking out the local vape or e gig shops in our area.I do understand that some of these are MOM and Pop kind of places.Having said that. i been smoking for over 42 years and am quite pleased that with the help of my lil buddy as i call it .I could quit.I still need so much more information.I have visited 2 local shops. Both of them employee people who never have smoked ...ever and one had a person who did not ever smoke or currently even vape.I feel how can they instruct me or guide me if they don't even know where i came from. One shop had 2 females about 18 -22.when we went in the shop the whole time we felt like we were interrupting them.Keeping them from doing some thing else.I thought it was just me.When we got to the car my fiancee said he felt that way before i even said any thing. They constantly asked were we ready to check out.We were not. I guess the point to this is with selling a product to new consumers of it.I would think a knowledgeable person would be better than a retaliative who knows almost less than i do.

Don't let those vape shops get you down; they are obviously hanging by their own loop of the learning curve and won't get your money that way. You can ask all kinds of questions here at ecf and get answers.

I feel your frustration, though! Out here in the sticks we are stuck with what we have near us, or end up buying online with no seller feedback per se.

Good luck, and keep trying...being smoke free is worth it!!!

So I have been vaping for a little over a month now and my local shop looks at me stupid when I ask questions about their juice they mix in house, like how long it should steep, does it work better in glass or plastic, why the heck did you sell me a counterfeit product and charge me retail and then not offer to remedy the situation( fake nautilus with cheap glass, and not properly tapped threads for the atty.) they just sit there and blow clouds and push either ego or the most expensive mods not really trying to help figure the best fit for me the customer. End rant off topic, you have ditsy employees and knowledgable ones just have to get to know them.

We have a lot of those types of shops popping up around here too. I call them pseudo vape shops. They say vape shop on the sign, but when you walk in, they are really just tobacco shops that have shoved a section in for vape gear and a few juices, and the employees have no idea what any of it is, or little idea. I am thrilled to have just found out that there are two 'real' vape shops in towns just a few over from mine. I am going to be checking them out. Good brick and mortar vape shops that actually specialize in vaping gear and juice, with employees and owners who really know about the items they have in stock are few and far between and need to be cherished. :)

We're pretty lucky around here. Vapor Kings started up their first B&M here in town and they pretty much set the standard that anybody who wants to compete with them has to live up to. There are definitely more places popping up that aren't up to snuff, but with so many good choices here in town they don't tend to last long.

I've been there before. I went to one b&m when I for awhile and1 guy was knowledgeable, 1 at least knew their product line, and the rest were hopeless. That's when i went the internet and started researching it myself. Then one day i went to radio shack to get some desolsdering wick, and I noticed a vape shop in the same strip, right next door. I walked in and have been going there since. I like their juices, i like their products, their prices are reasonable enough, and most importantly the staff is friendly and there's always at least one person there that can answer my questions. Also, they're less than 5minutes from my house.

We have a local shop. cool vapes. And it's awesome. They encourage curiosity. They want people to come in and sit down and learn and as questions and everybody that works there has the same attitude They have replaced items for me knowing it was my fault. At the time I didn't. Lol. We have another shop in town that has knowledgable staff. But they are rude And expensive Point is. There are good shops out there And when you find one. Support them And if you don't have one In your area. Just come here. Cause everyone at ECF is family

That's why I love this place! I always know when I find a shop I can frequent because of the stuff I have learned here.

Here's an example: We had a new vape shop open up in my town, the very first shop we've had, and sadly still the only one. I go in there at the grand opening with my itaste SVD with a Protank 2 on it. I look around at all the shiny stuff in the glass cases, and an employee comes up to me with an eGo battery and a ce4 tank on top, and says "Wow I've never seen one of those before! What is it?" I told him "it's an iTaste SVD", and he said "No the tank?" :(

I tell him and he says cool and that he's never seen one before. I then tell him that I have started to rebuild the coils for them and pointed to the case where they had spare knock off EVOD coils right next to the $200 knock off mechs, and $79.00 knock off EVOD starter kits. He said "I don't think those can be rebuilt, they are meant to be thrown away. I then ask him if they stock kanthal, and with a blank look he asked "what is that?"

They have 2 other stores and have been in business for a couple of years... Needless to say I have never been back! Thankfully there is a Stormy's about 30 minutes away!

Although not as easy to convey some issues or ideas, your best place for information is right here. I learned so much my firsts week here I thought my head would pop. I was worried about forgetting things or getting mixed up, but the very nice people here are more than happy to help no matter what you need. I've yet to come across an issue that I can't get advice on or more often a solid answer.

Which shops did you go to? There is a good one on Olive by 170 called CF Vapors. They were nice and friendly to me and they had mechs and clones along with the usual starter gear and the prices weren't bad at all for a brick and mortar. One guy was building a coil when I walked in but dropped what he was doing to help me out and didn't act like I was bothering him (I know the type you are talking about)...

I have a good vape shop near me. There are others but you get the same kind of attitude. They don't know the products . I think since this is such big business people are just openning them without doing any research at all. I thought about openning one but with the economy where it is don't feel like its a good idea. So I support those that do. I also have been buying of the internet lately.

I was fortunate, the first place I stopped, kind of on a whim, was a new shop in the neighborhood less than a mile from my home. It was operated by a man in his 50's who had previously smoked 2 PAD and had converted! He had done his research before opening and had a selection of stuff available. He took the time to walk me through the equipment, showed me how it worked, how to refill, let me try a few flavors and got me going on this journey.

He was trilled that vaping had helped him stop smoking and wanted to share with others so he and his wife, a Doctor, opened the shop. I still stop by at least once per week and spend about an hour talking. I usually buy something from him every other trip...

He has a couple of small tables with chairs, but doesn't want to turn it into a lounge where the younger crowd just hangs out and blows clouds. He has an older crowd that does business with him and it has worked out well!

I'm also very lucky to have a great shop 10 minutes from my house. I've been back 3 times my first week of vaping. They are super friendly and knowledgeable! They asked me great questions and actually recommended products based on my needs...not just pushing things on me. My favorite part is the taste bar. I can try all sorts of flavors and the prices aren't outrageous! I'm always a fan of shopping local as my wife and her family own a jewelry store in town. They have my business forever!

I've had numerous bad and good experiences in vape shops over the past 6 months:

1) Had to stop an employee trying to sell a complete noobie a £170 mech mod instead of the basic kit that they originally asked for - that got kind of messy until i explained to the customer exactly what they were buying and what could happen if they didn't know what they were doing.

2) New counter girl in the shop (a big branded one) - it used to be a friendly shop but now it's like someone trying to hard sell you a timeshare. Hence i don't go anymore and the last they heard the franchise was under extreme pressure.

3) I get all the time from various places "yeah i don't bother with anything other than my ego twist, what's the point". Rather than, oh no, someone that knows more about the topic than i do, i should probe them for knowledge so that i can relay it to my customers. This scenario it seems, really annoys them because they think that because they work behind the counter that they should know everything and take it as a personal failure when they don't so up come the shutters.

On the other hand i come across a lot of places that are excellent and have even experienced a shop that wouldn't sell someone a mech mod until they could prove that they knew what they were doing - after which they gave the customer a 20% discount.

Horses for courses but you are free to shop where you wish, it's a buyers market, the shops need YOUR custom, not the other way around!

just keep on vaping!
