one in overland .We have found a good one in maryland heights. One on the rock road is ok.

Which shops did you go to? There is a good one on Olive by 170 called CF Vapors. They were nice and friendly to me and they had mechs and clones along with the usual starter gear and the prices weren't bad at all for a brick and mortar. One guy was building a coil when I walked in but dropped what he was doing to help me out and didn't act like I was bothering him (I know the type you are talking about)...

Oh, you guys are killing me - lived in Hazelwood & Maryland Heights about 25 years ago.... I know EXACTLY where you're talking about :) Moved back to Indiana in '91. Haven't made it back to St. Lou in probably 20 years :( Used to sit at a bar near Earth City on Friday evenings and watch the I-270 "parking lot" as commuters headed to St. Peters and beyond :D

got one good shop by me locall guys are very helpful and knowledgeable as for the other 2 shops not so much. went into one for the first time the other day and the owner is a old hippy and im sure its no coincidence that half his shop is stocked with pyrex bowls.. but i was just browsing having never been in there and after i told him i have an svd and sigelei he tried and tried pushing them stuipid joytech pencil looking things on me haha.

I feel lucky that pretty much every vape shop in the Minneapolis area is run by knowledgable and interested people. If two of the shops don't have the right people working there, keep looking around for the right place! There are some around here that seem more friendly to just hang out and some that are more of a straight up store.

I have a shop in my area that's pretty big in terms of customers. I've only been there once, but when I was in there, there was this dirty, hippie looking couple that had their 2 year old running around the store and they were just blowing clouds on a couch. I mean, I get if you go out you may have to take your children with you, but why would you take them to a vape shop? Whatever, not my kid, I don't care what happens to them :p Needless to say I buy all of my stuff online.

Although not as easy to convey some issues or ideas, your best place for information is right here. I learned so much my firsts week here I thought my head would pop. I was worried about forgetting things or getting mixed up, but the very nice people here are more than happy to help no matter what you need. I've yet to come across an issue that I can't get advice on or more often a solid answer.

Yeah ignorant shop shock sent me here when I started...by the time I got into an orbit farther from home where there were vape shops, I could ask the questions I needed to and make my own decisions if they couldn't answer those questions. =)

My closest vape shop is in a college town and the employees are students. The first time I went in, the one who helped me was at least a former smoker, young as he was. I told him I had quit after 35 years. He said, "Oh, we have another old guy who comes in that smoked for 40.". I kind of laughed, but thought, he just called me old! However, at least he was friendly and helpful.

The last time I went in, a different one helped me, but he was kind of rude. Didn't want to answer my questions, and acted like I was a pain for wanting to sample some liquids. Not sure if I will go back.

The last vape shop I went to was out of town. An employee actually opened the shop up for us despite being closed (it was the 4th of July) and let us taste as many juices as we wanted. Didn't feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing him at all (even though I knew we were). Great experience, and we went back a few days later when they were actually open and spent a lot more money. Put my local vape shops to shame.

First post, been lurking for a while.. Most of the shops in my area are good, but there are definitely a couple that are run by owners that just want to push the easy sellers, and they don't really know much about what they are selling. Just like anything else, try to get smart before dropping some cash. This forum is a great source of information.

I've never been a fan of vape shops.

On another note I went to Home Depot the other day. I asked where the multimeters were at. Her response, "Whats a multimeter?"
If I were that guy's boss......and overheard that....I'd be inclined to take that employee aside....and ask HIM....
If He knows what a PAYCHECK IS?????!!!!!

hi, since were kinda new to this vaping , we been checking out the local vape or e gig shops in our area.I do understand that some of these are MOM and Pop kind of places.Having said that. i been smoking for over 42 years and am quite pleased that with the help of my lil buddy as i call it .I could quit.I still need so much more information.I have visited 2 local shops. Both of them employee people who never have smoked ...ever and one had a person who did not ever smoke or currently even vape.I feel how can they instruct me or guide me if they don't even know where i came from. One shop had 2 females about 18 -22.when we went in the shop the whole time we felt like we were interrupting them.Keeping them from doing some thing else.I thought it was just me.When we got to the car my fiancee said he felt that way before i even said any thing. They constantly asked were we ready to check out.We were not. I guess the point to this is with selling a product to new consumers of it.I would think a knowledgeable person would be better than a retaliative who knows almost less than i do.

Yeah... vaping is expanding so fast and shops are popping up like weeds, there's bound to be a fair number of not so good ones. But there are also some really outstanding ones out there. Don't give up. Surely there are some really great ones around.

Also, you got us. ECF is the 900 pound gorilla of vape knowledge. Seriously, this place is packed. I haven't yet seen anything vape related that there weren't experts somewhere around here.

And, yeah, you can quit. I was a heavy smoker for 30 something years and I'm on month 15 of "haven't touched a cig" now. It really can work. Took me, oh, around six weeks to stop smoking completely but now I can't imagine ever going back. If nothing else, I can't imagine giving up my flavors. I mean cigs are... menthol and plain? Boooring! :)

So I have been vaping for a little over a month now and my local shop looks at me stupid when I ask questions about their juice they mix in house, like how long it should steep, does it work better in glass or plastic, why the heck did you sell me a counterfeit product and charge me retail and then not offer to remedy the situation( fake nautilus with cheap glass, and not properly tapped threads for the atty.) they just sit there and blow clouds and push either ego or the most expensive mods not really trying to help figure the best fit for me the customer. End rant off topic, you have ditsy employees and knowledgable ones just have to get to know them.

Sigh.

Makes me wanna go slap people.

On the other hand, they're slitting their own fool throats. A local shop opened out here (I'm outside Austin, close but not quite suburbia... yet) and they're good. Good customer service, friendly, take time with "newbies".

In a little more than a year, they opened three (!) other stores and became a liquids supplier to bunches of convenience store/gas station type places. Just booming.

The snarky clique type place that opened? I think they're still around? Maybe?

I have been to a couple of local vape shops. They are all fancy with fancy furniture and lighting, but I showed them my Reo 2.1 and my Billet Box and they didn't even know what is was. I needed batteries for my Reo and I figured I'd check the local scene out. They asked what wattage my Billet box was and I told them it wasn't watts and it was volts. They didn't even know what volts were. Not to mention I payed $13 for an Efest batt. Not impressed, I think I'll stick to my online vendors. At least they know what they are talking about.
