VaporFi Rocket same as Kangertech EMOW MEGA?

I'm still relatively new to vaping. Just started about a month ago. I bought the Kangertech Emow, and, except for a couple of minor things, I'm relatively happy with it. The minor things are, I wish it had a longer battery life between charges, and that it had a larger tank. Looks like the EMOW MEGA would take care of this. I've also looked at the vaporfi Rocket. The two appear to be identical. The only difference I can see is, the Rocket costs about double the price of the Mega. If they are the same, why pay double the price for the Rocket? Is there anything that makes it worth that price?

Stay away from vapor fi they are ripping people off just like you have noticed they just double the price and change the name, heck they even changed their name because everyone was catching on that they were rebranding and doubling sometimes tripling the price. There are to many reputable other vendors to deal with.

Oh.. my favourite subject. (Vendors and prices)

VaporFi Rocket "was $279.99" now only $119.99 (in 2014... this is how they sold it)

It's a $50 e-cig.

Whether it's made by Kanger or not, the price is absurd. We know it, they know it.
VaporFi say "we make all our own products".... which is very strange, let's face it.
Either they are asking Kanger to make it, or they are cloning a popular e-cig.

I rest my case.

I could go on, but I won't.

I purchased Kanger mega emow and love it. I did a good day's worth of online research as well as input from vaping friends. Kanger is a good name with quality product. I know very little but I'm sticking with known brands and sites. Knew I had to get big enough battery (mah) vv and adjustable airflow. Not to mention, love the style

VaporFi is SUCH a rip-off with their equipment. However, I feel for the masses. How would the average Joe (or Joelle) even know?

I started off vaping by with a Vuse (gas station ciga-like) and then started Googling when I realized I wanted to upgrade. VaporFi was one of the "brand name" e-cigarette vendor sites that I saw. I strongly considered buying from a similar vendor. I won't name any names...but I'm glad I didn't. I would have spent like $75 on what was essentially a double battery eGo kit. Yeah...

To the original poster:

You can rest assured that you are getting excellent VALUE when you buy any of the larger brand names like Kanger. I've only ever heard of vaporfi here and spoken of in unkind terms. It's good that you asked questions before buying.

One of the problems that these ripoff places count on is new vapers not knowing the actual value of the gear. I fell for it once myself on my first vape gear purchase at a local B&M.... $80 for an Evod and a clone Spinner II battery and a charger. Yikes. They won't see another cent of my money... that's how to deal with them. Don't shop there and educate as many people as possible on the good the bad and the ugly.

You did not give any justification for why the Rocket is more than double the cost of the Kangertech Emow Mega. And let's be honest. Except for the name(s) printed on each one, they are identical. You've apparently been deluded into believing that there are "distinct differences" between the two.I could easily purchase the Rocket on line for the same price as it is in one of the stores. The appearance of the store has no bearing on the cost of the product. And I'd be willing to bet that Kangertech's customer service is every bit as good as yours.

Well said the O.P. It's your thread and I am glad you have drawn this conclusion.

All I want to add it this;

A company that publically boasts it can provide its resellers with a 100%-400% profit margin needs to think very carefully about their corporate image.

I would like to thank the comment made by the person connected to this brand (not on behalf, but independently) for clearing up some of the on-going confusions.

Hi, wasn't sure if you had the Emow or the Emow Mega but from what I have found the Vaporfi Rocket has 1600 mah and the Kanger Emow 1300 mah. That's really not too much of a difference in battery life. Some difference but not enough to buy another battery. I have the Kanger Emow Mega which has 1600 mah and my battery usually lasts about 2 days but I do not constantly vape. I wouldn't buy a new battery unless your charging more than once a day. Good luck and take your time purchasing products, ask around, search reviews on you tube and of course this e-cig forum is a great great start. Good luck.

Hi! This is actually my first post on ECFforum.

My husband had been using blu for almost 3 years (yeah, I know!) and I wanted to help him upgrade for a Christmas present. I ended up being duped and purchasing the Vaporfi Rocket starter kit, along with back-up battery and coils. I thought I had done proper research, ended up here: www dot electroniccigarettes2014 dot com, which I now feel is a paid "review" site. I should have also known that the reviews on their website were too good to be true./
I should have ended up "HERE" at ECF. Since December I've learned an awful lot from reading your posts, and through very helpful B&M stores in NYC.

Also, I now own a Kanger MOW, which is a thinner/smaller battery than the Kanger MOW Mega. The MOW Mega/ Rocket are definitely "the same".

Bad luck Jennifer.

Sadly, some brands are in cahoots with websites that exist primarily to mislead for money or are run by naive individuals thinking they are doing the right thing by recommending certain e-cigs.

It's a sad state. At least the product actually works, which is a blessing. I spent $800 on cig-a-likes. (Ouch...)

I see all the posts from the Vaporfi guy have been deleted. heehee.
And welcome to the ECF Jennifer.

Have they? That's a result. It annoys me when people try to defend the indefensible. With one hand a brand offers a product way over-priced with spurious comments about exceptional customer service, and then on it's own trade website offers 400% profit margins to it's resellers.

400% profit margins.
